![]() | Hi guys I left my sorb in for approx4 x dives of 75 mins each in 12 degre water here in Victoria , max depth was 25 mts for each dive, on the last dive on the Sunday I noticed I was getting , IMHO, a CO2 headache ,I cleaned out the sorb when i got home and dived again on the Monday with no ill effects , abeit it was to only 12 mts . My question is was that too long for the sorb , and if so whats the longest anyone has left their sorb in ? ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | with my dolphin depending on what sord i am using i tend to run between 4 an 5 hours. If using drager sord then i find 4 hrs to be the most i will go to, Using sona lime 8 -- 12 grade the i will let run run time increase to 5 hrs, as i seem to get a better dwel time in the can with the sofna lime. i know of some one running to 7 hrs on a drager can with drager sorb lets just say he wasnt well when he surfaced. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | if the headache cleared after you spent time on the surface it could have be co2 break through. I am assumming that all other factures on the dive were much the same, work rate breathing rate an so forth |

So you went 50 mins past that. More importantly, it wasn't a single dive, where the absorbant stays operational and is used continiously. You started the last dive on an (almost by revision) exhasted (by CE standard) scrubber fill. If you browse though the CO2 threads you will see that testing done on scrubbers has shown that a used scrubber doesn't perform as well as a fresh fill, even if you stay within the manufacturer's limits.

![]() | Yes my workrate and all other factors were the same , the dives were pretty much easy ( for Vic waters) , the headache was gone by the time I got home with the car windows open and the heater up full. I didn't feel sick in the stomach etc , so the solution is to keep within the dreager times and not to be lazy. also can anyone point me in to a thread that will allow me to downlaod the correct test flow rates for my alantis. |
