Re: Favorite Sorb

Types I've used with my comments.

Dive sorb (Drager): Works good, dusty, and expensive (note my location)

797 Sofno: Best of all but wayyyy 2 expensive where I'm at. Anybody moving a container from the UK to Malaysia anytime soon?

4-8 grade?(coarse) Sodasorb: Worked ok, dusty, short duration

6-12?(fine) Sodasorb: Worked good, dusty, equivalent duration to Divesorb

Sperasorb: Choice for my location. As good as Dive/Soda sorbs and gets delivered at much lower price. Very non-dusty.

Hey Jeff,

can you still get Medisorb as i was told that they had stoped selling it to divers.

G'day mark,
I've been OS ---hence the late reply. Medisorb is still available ---but when the prices quoted jumped up to the diving grade I switched & have now restocked with Sodasorb instead.

Like any brand ---it depends a lot on how it is handled in transit.

Some containers were a bit dusty that I just polished off in Bikini (sent over there in 2005) compared to a couple I still have here, out of the same lot.
If you are concerned about dust content, just pour it into scrubber when there is a bit of wind blowing outside. Works for me.

Re: Favorite Sorb

Hi,

It´s my first post here.

I live in Brazil (Salvador, BA) and will get course of Meg CCR.

Here I have some dificult to buy Sofnolime. The representant of Molecular Products Inc. in Brazil work only with medical market, and only have Sofnolime 2550WV.

This sorb works fine in Meg rebreather ?

I find aother sorb in Brazil. The name is Atrasorb (www.atrasorb.com.br), and they are used bay brazilian and chile navy in combat divers units. Anyone know if this sorb is fine for Meg ?

thanks and excuse my poor english

Unhappy Re: Favorite Sorb

I use Dive Sorb, and never used anything else for the simple reason that it is the only sorb I can easily put my hands on in Thailand.

Hi & Welcome to Rebreather World Bruno,
I don't see any reason why they both wouldn't work in any breather except for the ones that can only use cartridges. So I say yes
What price are they asking per kg?

Cheers

Re: Favorite Sorb

Hi,

The prices in Brazil:

a) Sofnolime -2550WV / 20 kg = R$ 259,00;

b) Atrasorb subaquática / 20 Kg = R$ 230,00

1,00 Real = 1,74 American Dollars
