Look under contact information you'll find they have a gmail account. If that's any indicator for professionalism then I'd stay away from their sorb.I particularly like the comment: '4mm 8mm grade is the most popular, and is probably adequate for diving and medical purposes'. Cheers, ![]() The size of granules is far to big. Unless you specifically design for that size you'll find breakthrough is achieved all too easy. If you want to use a medical sorb I'd recommend Spherasorb. Although a medical sorb it's used by nearly every Rebreather diver I personally know (could it be it enjoys local popularity?) unless they really have to use the fine sofno. Spherasorb contains a lot less dust and is a lot cheaper. The lower reported WOB is questionable though as comparing it to the coarse grade sofno would be a more relevant comparison.

Given that fact you must take everything they say with a grain of salt. ISO cert is meaningless. Given that your live in China now I suspect you know what kind of business practices are used in India and I am not telling you anything new. I would not be concerned about them using a GMail address as that quite normal for many manufacturing companies in Asia and India. John |

Might be a good product...but their chemistry section (pasted below) is riddled with errors, IMHO Chemical Reactions that take place to bind Co2 : First the gaseous Co2 reacts with water to form carbonic acid - H2CO3. Then the NaOH reacts with the carbonic acid to produce Na2Co2 and H2O. The Na2Co2 reacts with the Ca(OH)2 that has been disassociated into Calcium and Hydroxide Ions. (Ca++ and OH-) to produce CaC02 (calcium carbonate, otherwise known as limestone.) The CO2 is now in a relatively stable state. There is a net production of three H2O molecules for every molecule of CO2 which is taken in.

![]() | Re: Gripo Sorb ???? Might be a good product...but their chemistry section (pasted below) is riddled with errors, IMHO I concur 100 % with what you wrote. This section could be "borrowed" from somewhere else. I find it a little hard to believe that a chemical manufacturer lacks elementary knowledge of chemistry. It is very strange IMHO! I also sent an email to them asking various questions. When and if I recieve any answer I will let you all know. Cheers, Sotos |
