![]() | Re: inspiration half fill adaptor If im not mistaken its time not depth limited. The evolution is a 1/3 smaller. The reason I would be interested is at this time of year I do short dives and may not get out again due to weather conditions for a good few weeks. Nice not to chuck full scubber. Tony |

I see your point but don't agree with you at all. I'm still a greenie but I would meen that a half full scrubber would meen a shorter gas travel through the sorb. My concern is that in a situation with heavy work load or problems expired gas will not be in active scrubber material for a suffecient amount of time to remove all CO2 = bad spiral.Tony Perhaps you should see it the other way around and say: With a full scrubber I need to go diving a bit more.. instead of reducing safety.Just my 2 cents Dive safe Soren

![]() | Re: inspiration half fill adaptor Good points, I wonder in this case how less efficent the Evo scrubber is? and yes go diving more and no issue. Im with you there. |

You could always make a cylindrical packer, like a thick walled tube. Then when you insert this into the scrubber it leaves a smaller cross sectional area in the center but the same column height. Just fill the center piece with sorb and bobs your aunty.Perhaps you should see it the other way around and say: With a full scrubber I need to go diving a bit more.. instead of reducing safety.Just my 2 cents Dive safe Soren Just a thought. Don't know if it would actually work. I guess you would have to have some sort of seal around the outside to stop any CO2 laden gasses bypassing the scrubber material. Anyone brave enought to try it? | Still Learning.... Current Rebreather/s: | Re: inspiration half fill adaptor You could always make a cylindrical packer, like a thick walled tube. Coming from a radial scrubber design background so not got a lot of experience on this type I imagined this suggestion basically means fitting a tube inside the scrubber (i.e. one whose Outside Diameter matched the Inside Diameter of the scrubber). If that's right then I'd be worried about getting a tight enough fit so that gas (CO2) couldn't find a path between the two (and if it was tight enough getting it out afterwards!Apologies if I am on the wrong track.
