![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Keeping sorb in a fridge I was taking to a couple of friends this week who have recently done their Dolphin course. They mentioned that their instructor advised them to keep their part used scrubbers in a fridge to preserve the life of the sorb. I thought this was a load of cock because if there is no gas being passed through the scrubber then it can't be being used up when stored. However I know that you guys will give me your opinions. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | How to keep scrubber fresh. For this you need a pure He source. I'd recommend using the ash from a tomakak reactor. Best let it cool for a bit first though. Then you need about 10 feet of flexible drainpipe, the stuff you can collapse. Then 10 feet of 12mm stainless studding. 2 caps for the drainpipe. The one way valves from your Rebreather. Drill two holes in the drainpipe caps, one to mount your valves and one for the 12mm studding. put one cap on the pipe with the studding sticking throgh the middle to the other end. Fill the pipe with your part used scrubber. Put the other cap on and secure. Fill the pipe with He through the one way valve. Then tighten the nuts on the studding to collapse the drainpipe and force out the excess He. Once the pipe is compressed, blank off the two one way valves. You wil then have your scrubber in an pure He atmosphere, nice and inert. You can then put it in the fridge.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Keeping sorb in a fridge Mock you may but these guys are serious, they are taking beer out of the fridge to fit the scrubbers in. That doesn't sound too bad unless you know that they are in the southern Red Sea on a liveaboard and it's your beer that's getting warm.

I can think of no possible benifit that would out weigh the terror of warm beer.
