Question on rEvo part.

I keep finding those little shells from Ginnie (Ear) inbetween my counter lungs, so I pulled the front plate off along with the stainless steel perforated piece.

After cleaning many of the shells out and reasembling the unit I was very curious as to the purpose of the perforated sheet, is it just a stiffener for the backplate or does it serve another purpose?
....Just wondering......

Hi,

The perforated plate is here to maintain the counter lung in the case. It is perforated to allow water to circulate better in the case.

Only in the lower section of the Revo, where the metal case bends away from the unit.
