| What weight and where? I have been diving my rEvo standard with only 12lbs of weight across two pockets on the top of the unit. Swapping dry suits to a new suit with heavy insulation and now I need about 16lbs more weight... Where do you put the extra weight? Standard weight belt? Weight pockets on your revo waist belt?? Thanks! Dwayne Last edited by DwayneJ; 30th January 2012 at 08:17.. |

| Asia's rEvo Gal :) ![]() | Re: What weight and where? During my initial stage of diving my rEvo, I was using 4 2lbs weight, and had it stacked two-by-two on the top of the rack secured with big cable ties. Personally, I find pocket holder too cumbersome and bit bulky too (imo).

| Re: What weight and where? I need about 8lbs with my standard, A buddy poured 2 4lbs flat bars of lead and I bolted them to the top rack. Nice and neat, no plastic straps to break. If you need more weight you just stack more lead plates with longer bolts. |

Thanks! Hello,Dwayne I dive a neopren 2mm (crushed) like the cover with a weezle extrem+ as underwear. In fresh water no weight needed with 3lt steel tanks (4,8kg/pc) In the sea I use fourth element artic also with no weight If I teach I put 2kg (+/-5lb) on the top in a small wieght pocket. ![]() (I use it after the dive to store my rEvodream) I have a steel rEvo. Normaly you don't need much lead with the rEvo's but minimum volume is maybe a key, but that depends on your morphology also. Regards Mike |

You can get the weights from the dive centre so no need to lug any customised weights. Best regards, SS |

Thanks! Hi Dwayne,Dwayne Am I getting this correctly? You have 12#s on the top rack; you changed exposure suits & undergarments & now you need an extra 16#s for a total of 28#s, plus the weight of the rEvo? If so, could you tell us your height & weight? If it's 28#s + the rEvo weight, it sounds an awful lot! Not that you don't need it, it's just staggering my mind. But I am amazed that changing DS & undergarments will cause a need for 16#s additional. Franco |

Thanks! Dwayne!Dwayne You might consider changing the material used as undergarment. 4th element undergarment are less bulky and less buoyant. They are expensive. Another option is to order from Patagonia their heavy duty Capelene ski wear. Again, less bulky and less buoyant but very warm! I layer in my dry suit. I dive a mini in a crushed neoprene drysuit (old style) and need zero weight. Adding 16 pounds just sounds an awful lot! Claudia |

| Re: What weight and where? Hi Dwayne, Staggering in my mind too. I was diving my old drysuit with the 12lbs on the top shelf but am trying out the Waterproof D1 Hybrid which has a built in thermal layer. My buddy warned me he uses an extra 8lbs with his D1. I added 10lbs but it was barely enough to get me under so 14'-16' is what I need. Not that you don't need it, it's just staggering my mind. But I am amazed that changing DS & undergarments will cause a need for 16#s additional. Franco The D1 Hybrid is a very well made suit and I was wearing shorts/t-shirt in 54F water but the only negative is the added buoyancy. I'm too heavy at the moment (220lbs) and me losing pounds will likely reduce my external weight requirements. On the plus side - At least I now need ditch-able weight which makes the PADI crowd happier ;) Every other aspect of the D1 Hybrid is fantastic but now I have to think about how to proceed. If the top rack isnt holding enough for you, then how about trim weight pockets? You can put these on the case or on the tanks and it gives you a lot of options. As others have mentioned - I would look at undergarments first. You shouldnt need anywhere near that much on a rEvo. I have 5lb on the top of my evolution when wearing a whites fusion with 4th element arctic top and xerotherm leggings. (With 1 x 40cuft bailout)
