| rEvo low WOB kit 1 review. I consider any attempts to reduce WOB as being worthwhile. I therefore wasted no time in ordering the low WOB kit No.1 from Paul. I was a bit apprehensive about fitting it, as it did involve "open unit surgery" which I didn't feel qualified to do. After reading the online instructions again and again I decided that I'd give it a whirl. Actually, it was pretty straight forward and took about 30 minutes max. Paul warns you in the manual that fitting the grids is a bit fiddly, and he's not wrong there! ![]() Once assembled, I did notice that the counterlungs were visible through the corners at the top of the unit; so for extra protection, I lined the newly expanded gap with innertube sections. Yesterday I did my first dive after fitting the low WOB kit. I would say that this kit brings the WOB of the rEvo to TX40 / TX50 territory, it is simply much, much better. I've never had a OTS counterlung unit, but if WOB is putting you off the back-mounted counterlungs, I would seriously suggest you give a newer rEvo a go (or an older one with the new kit). My faith in the unit has increased massively; and that's with the old thick valves on the Golem BOV. I'm due to get the new valves soon and can't wait to try them. |

| Re: rEvo low WOB kit 1 review. I agree with all you write. I was also worried about the CL getting abaided easier, but so far its holding up. I had som misgivings about the straight connections, but they a bitter fit (lower tolerances) and if you get them lined up properly its perfect. Had 1½-2 knots current down a 45dgr shotline today and current on the wreck (25-30msw) so no deco, but was winded and at no point did I feel like I has to push air around. Yes you can tell there's a little resistance (if you try to look for it) but its feels just fine. I also mounted the new DSV-bore (Kit-2) and this is great - btw. I'm using fine grade Sofno+air dil, so thats worst-case. rEvo rocks. Nicolai |
