Re: Mouthpiece

Hello Sune,

Jax, no way. I tried to fit one, not wide enough even when put in hot water.
Seacure, they have a wide version, maybe this will fit.

I really want a Sea Cure on my rEvo. I'm going to have to contact them about making one.

Re: Mouthpiece

we have put sea-cures on several. you have to be carefully when putting it on, because it stretches a little. heat the base as well as the tangs for your teeth. also make sure you put it on with silicone to seal it good so their are no leaks.

why does everyone want to remove a safety-part of a rebreather??the mouthpiece we supplie gives extra safety, and for 5h dives, no jaw fatigue at all (you can easely adjust the strain on the rubber 'holders'paul

Did find a nice description of the SeaCURE:
Regulator Mouthpieces

Why is the mouthpiece not in the rEvo pricelist and what is the "safety mouthpiece" ?

Well I for one removed as part of the course was doing frequent Bailouts.
I thought it inhibited hasslefree bailout to a necklaced regulator.

With a BOV I would keep it.

it is standard on the unit: the drager mouthpiece with the rubber straps that hold the dsv in your mouth, even when you go unconcious.. if you have the straps 'strapped' offcourse

and it is on the pricelist as spare

if you practice, even on an emergency bail-out, no problem to remove it, even with the rubbers strapped!: just pull it down, and the rubbers come down also.

during training, either leave the rubbers less strapped, so that you can take off the mouthpiece easier for all the switches between OC and CC, if you want the DSV flooting above your head, either pull it down and it stays around your neck while breathing from OC

sorry paul some of us get tmj from anything other than sea cure. i hate having my jaw lock and pop for hours after the dive!!

to answer question. sea cure high flow # II can be gently heated and stretched to fit the rEvo. then use silicon sealent to ensure a seal between the dsv and sea cure.
i wrote up directions quite a while back for the sea cure fitting on a meg. check it out it may help
