rEvo mini sliding backplate issue

Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep the sliding BP in the extended position during the dive? Mine retracts after only three or four minutes and I have to keep pulling it down! Thanks in advance.

Re: rEvo mini sliding backplate issue

I have had the same problem. I also have not figured out how to keep it from dropping at inconvenient moments when I move the rEvo about.

My guess is that the sliding plate is made out of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), or some other weldable plastic. Paul, what is it made of?

A couple of thin strips of plastic could be welded to either side of the slot in the sliding plate to form a lip that engages the stainless case (or the edge of the wing) when the plate is extended. Or maybe the strips could be fixed with flush rivets.

I have some HDPE and a welder. If the plate is HDPE I might experiment.

hello all, the plate is made of delrin, and is hold in place by friction between back and wing.you can adjust the friction by adding or taking away washers that are placed under the lower part of the backplate.regardspaulpaul
