![]() | Video of Robs birthday dive SDTechDiving Its the first video on top (Catalina) We did some wrecks at 170' on the first dive then slid over to try and do a submarine docking station in 210'. Conditions werent so good on the island but we had fun! |

![]() | Re: Video of Robs birthday dive Subs would pull up to it and dock, think cold war era. I dont have all the details on hand but it was a pretty cool contraption. Anyhow some of it is still down there. Its an OK dive there are better ones on the island |

Anyhow some of it is still down there. Its an OK dive there are better ones on the island I think you mean Sub Tower. It was a structure from which submariners practiced emergency escapes, it was for training and when the Navy was done with it, they just dumped it off Catalina.Ship Rock is a much much better dive. |

It was used to find ways to rescue personnel from a stricken sub. And it was used for other training purposes Its basically a big ass crane that is now laying on its side, and a bunch of crazy big concrete mooring blocks. Andrew Ainslie posted a video here, or at TDS. If I can find the link, I'll post it. Otherwise do some searching |
