Thats a nice bit of mod there. did you take the guts out, or weld it with em in? any problems with that? heat?

alos you have one crotch strap only? do you use the split straps like stock anymore? if so how do you rig them? are they part of that oms deal??

hey if anybody comes up with a plate that replaces welding, i want one.

marv
Hi Marv,

As the others have said, you have to remove the cover plate from the rEvo case to access the bolt heads - this is what is tack welded to the plate.

And yes, I only use one crotch strap. This is what I am used to from diving doubles for a long time. The harness system I have installed on my rEvo is a Deep Outdoors Matrix, not OMS.

Tobin may be interested in working out a less permanent solution. I will be showing him my rEvo unit so he can figure out something, although with the slimness of the case may preclude his current methods as it would dig into the counterlungs.

Paul

Re: Undressing The rEvo

As this is just to hold the bolts from dropping back into the CL case why not just use some epoxy or other strong non water soluble glue.
Just put a little blob on the head of the bolt to stick it in place.

Then this will hold the bolt will have no effect on holding the back plate on as the glue won't be doing the work and can be undone with a little heat (depending on the glue).

Re: Undressing The rEvo

Hi all,

Why not weld a nut inside the plate and use a screw cut at the right length to fix the split backplate and wing?
A piece of liner would protect the counterlung from damages.

Re: Undressing The rEvo

I just had the bolts on our 2 rEvo's welded on the head side of the bolt and the job turned out real nice with no warpage.

The key is to find a good welder.

Tobin, I can send my mini up with Paul when he come up if you want to see how it fits on a unit without the bolts welded in place (yet).

Don't worry I'll send it stripped of cover, scrubbers, revodreams just to keep the temptation to a minimum.
