![]() ![]() | The Golem BOV Project Because there is not much info around on what you need to do to mount a BOV to your rEvo I will write up a small blurb with the useful info that I had to ask several parties for. Mounting a BOV really isnt that hard. If mounting to dil there are some things you need to know. First off there arent enough lp ports on the ds4 for good hose routing. I decided to use a lp manifold block which sits right above my left shoulder, it makes it easier to mount the tank and keeps hoses cleaner. The lp hose running from the ds4 to the block is 24". From there you'll need a 15" lp inflator hose for bc and an approx 20 in lp hose for the BOV. This allows very clean mounting and the lp hose going to the BOV follows the loop so its not off in outerspace to get caught on something. You may slip the lp hose through the hose wrap for further protection. I also used a quick disconnect on the BOV for easy cleaning and option of plugging in offboard bailout. Some other useful info: -The ray hoses are 43 mm so innertube is needed to mount a KISS sized bov. -Hose clamps work much better than zip ties This might sound confusing but I'll post pictures so it makes sense. |

Agreed strongly with #2 above, but not #1: I've used a KISS BOV with Ray Hoses for years on several rigs without any sort of shim... just tighten the hose clamp down. The hoses are flexable enough to take up any slack. Try it. Use the narrow hose clamps, the ones that are 1/4 inch wide (McMaster-Carr has them by the box and they are cheap) and just slip the hose over and clamp away. One thing I found useful for head-movement was to (1) Use an omniswivel at the BOV, (2) Use an Ocean Reef QD into the omniswivel so the hose can be removed for equipment break-down, and (3) Tie-wrap the HUD wire parallel to the BOV hose... NOT wrapped around the breathing hose. Makes the hose set lots more flexable while diving, and to remove the Ray hose set for cleaning, just snap off the HUD from the BOV, snap-open the quick connect to the BOV and unplug the P-Connectors. Works a charm. Photos if desired. Dave .

![]() ![]() | Re: The Golem BOV Project Still playing with the HUD.... Wanted to say thanks to Stephane for answering a lot of my questions and also Joe and Joe at Omniswivel for coming down to give me some ideas and making me some custom hoses within a 30 minute period , I'll drop a case of beer by on monday! |

![]() ![]() | Re: The Golem BOV Project Well, I broke the SS mount for my HUD by trying to bend it. But in doing so I found a cool way to remounbt it using the broken piece. Ill post pics later to show you can it actually makes then sit lower so they are not blocking your vision as much |
