Nope. Same country of origin, different manufacturer, different design.

Re: which BOV

I have just fitted a Halcyon BOV on my KISS. It is exceptionally comfortable while scootering. Although the halcyon looks large and heavy, its is positive and easily trimmed in the water which makes it super comfortable in your mouth.

Due to its large profile the KISS is horrible in current and while scootering. I had to dive with a seacure on it to gain a good hold. Even so, I would still get terrible jaw fatigue.

Does the Golum have a chin rest?

I do significant amounts of scootering and subjected to plenty of current. As far as I can tell, the profile of the Golum BOV is marginally larger than the original DSV. The majority of mouthpeice pull is from the breathing hose.

Did you try to turn your head sideways while scootering with Halcyon BOV? I almost lost it first time I did it

The GG does not come with chin rest but here is a recipe for a chinrest I use:
1) Cut 2.5" of garden hose
2) Cut 10" of bungee cord
3) run bungee through the garden hose
4) tie around the 2nd stage body
5) rest your chin

or we can manufacture $50 chinrest if you prefer.

Re: which BOV

Time will tell on the Halcyon. I just fitted it this month, so we will see after a year of diving. I didn't really notice much pull while turning my head and scootering, but I will pay more attention to it next dive.

If it is a problem I may try a golum but so far the Halcyon is looking pretty nice.

Re: which BOV

Just got my v4tec BOV.
Easy to mount, a fine peace of kit, and the HUD is easy to put on.
Thanks Peter.
