| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: San Diego rEvos in actions The wrecks shown in the photos were; The Polaris Missile Tower 165' used originally to test polaris missiles for the navy; The USS Hogan 130' a WWI era wreck sunk for naval target practice; and The Mystery Workboat 170' (identification still pending). Any I missed Tyler? The Missile Tower and Hogan are pretty close to each other down by the US/Mexican Border about 9 miles south of San Diego Bay. The Workboat is around 4 miles from the bay. Theres more information on the sites on SDTechDiving under dive sites. If your planning on coming out this way lets us know and we're always up for taking visitors diving! Rob

The missile tower is believed to have been used to test launch Polaris or Poseidon (submarine-based) missiles. The video actually shows the wreck on it's side, the large tube was actually vertical. |
