I was looking at mounting it to the back stainless cover, not to the split backplate. Does mounting it to the bottom split backplate cause any issues with the way the armadillo or the stages sit? Is yours on a regular rEvo or mini? Thanks Rob Mine is on a regular rEvo. If you look at the photos you will see that I had to cut/burn a hole through the cloth for the backplate crotch-strap lip. If you put the Armadillo on the case it will be too far back, you need it flush with your buttocks, the way I use it keeps everything very neat. Cheers, Dave Cooper.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Has Anyone put a Sidemount on a rEvo? Had an Armadillo on my Inspo and loved it so now I'm looking for ideas on if and how others have put them on their rEvos. If you've got pictures of how you mounted it, even better. I've put an Armadillo Side-Mount Kit on my rEvo since one year. It is fitted like Dave one. But I don't often use it cause it's a pain to done the tanks, specially to fit the clip on the but.Rob What clips do you use ?

Hi Jacques, I fit all my stages with something similar to this: Technical SCUBA Diving Equipment for Advanced, Wreck and Cave Diving: Dive Rite, Inc. - Catalog - Stage Bottle Rigging In fact most of mine are these: LUMB BROS Miscellaneous I find them really easy to put on and take off and if I need to hand a stage off they are good to go. Cheers, Dave.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Has Anyone put a Sidemount on a rEvo? Mmm... that's what I use. Correct with wet suit and gloves, but with dry suit and gloves, I found it very difficult to fit butt ring on the boat, and not easy in the water. In fact, depend of what bailout used too. Easiest with 7 liters than with 11 liters. When the rig is fitted, that's right it's pleasant to use.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Has Anyone put a Sidemount on a rEvo? How's that then? Hey Dave,Thanks for the pix . . if you'll indulge a couple questions . . . Looks like you cut 2 holes in the bottom plate for the butt plate screws . . . What did you use to make the holes? Also, it looks like your crotch strap(s) are run over the butt plate (ie, pulling it close to you, as opposed to "under" the butt plate and next to your suit). Why this choice? Thanks, --dan |

Hey Dave, 1st question: A drill.........Thanks for the pix . . if you'll indulge a couple questions . . Thanks, --dan 2nd question: You need the crotch strap to be outside the butt plate to bring it tight to your a s s Any other way will not work. Cheers, Dave Cooper.
