| Ladies bring a plate ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: some pictures :-) (rEvo extended with radials) what the pictures show: well at least that scrubber 2 is still active :-) (as I continued using it as primary scrubber for the next 3.5 hours, till end of the trip) (after that, I binned it: purple around central tube for +/- 2 cm) (I also binned the second scrubber then: there was not one purple grain in it: this means that the first one (in the 3.5hour test) (that is the second one in the 9.5 hour test) was stil active! No it doesn't. It isn't telling you anything. The colour indicator has proven itself to be no indicator at all. Different tubs, different days, different dives, different grains of sorb etc give different results.regards paul There is no substitute for propper testing that measures CO2 levels. This sort of testing is naive and potentially dangerous.

| Re: some pictures :-) (rEvo extended with radials) For what it is worth I have used a Meg can for 7 hours on a single dive There is no substitute for propper testing that measures CO2 levels. This sort of testing is naive and potentially dangerous. As I do or as I say? Chill Steve -if people want to do slightly dumb things to see what happens, who cares? It's a data point to consider, not an endorsement! I'm sure as hell not going to do 11 hours on the prism, but knowing that someone has makes me pretty confident to do 5 or so. The recent trip was the first time i've used indicating sorb - even if it's not trustworthy it was interesting to see how the scrubber looked with different amounts of time on it. The fact that the indicator matched what would have been predicted was nice - if I got out and the scrubber was all purple I would have been concerned... ditto if there was no change or obvious channelling. Bit like having a CO2 sensor in the loop really, completely useless as it only tells you that you are having a CO2 problem as it occurs, but kinda cool anyway. Mike

| Re: some pictures :-) (rEvo extended with radials) this is the reason that dual scrubbers have an advantage: you can use up scrubber 1 almost for 100%, withouth big safety issues, because there is still scrubber nr 2 Paul;I also notice that the purple is far less clear in the axial than in the radial scrubber: must have to do with the 'heat-keeping' properties of the radial what the pictures show: well at least that scrubber 2 is still active :-) (as I continued using it as primary scrubber for the next 3.5 hours, till end of the trip) (after that, I binned it: purple around central tube for +/- 2 cm) (I also binned the second scrubber then: there was not one purple grain in it: this means that the first one (in the 3.5hour test) (that is the second one in the 9.5 hour test) was stil active! regards paul Are the two scrubbers inter-changeable? (Can you throw out the used sorb from the upstream can, put the downstream can in the upstream position and put the newly re-filled can in the downstream position?) If so, could be a nice way to more safely be efficient with sorb. |

| Re: some pictures :-) (rEvo extended with radials) Hi Paul Great improvement of a very good Rebreather CONGRATULATIONS But, just a little question. I know that you made a test but it is not a little bit escary to dive twice below 100 mtrs with the same sorb? I never dive twice a cannister with trimix in my inspi .Best. Mikel

| Re: some pictures :-) (rEvo extended with radials) Paul; That's how the rEvo works. There is a video link somewhere that shows a clip of them doing exactly that. A full scrubber swap/change in something on the order of 30 or 40 seconds. Are the two scrubbers inter-changeable? If I had a PRE PACKED spare scrubber I could change mine in less time. Not that it matters a bit anyway. just a nice marketing angle. Paul R, no offence M8, I like the unit ![]()
