1. Instructors need to pay a mortgage like the rest of us. Fees and time will be set accordingly.
1a. they also have to meet various standards which require a lot of time behind the scenes that is unpaid.
2. There are muppets out there who REQUIRE training because they are retards.
3. Those same retards break their kit or modify it them claim it doesnt work and claim on warranty. Training in correct use reduces costs.
4. . Manufacturers need to have assurance that end users will not kill themselves on their products as it will be very bad for marketing.
5. Liability for tour operators requires that they have a reasonable level of assurance that their charges will not die or cause them serious problems on organized trips.

Specialist builders, experienced operators and homebuilders are unquantifiable as a whole and rare as rocking horse shit.

I used to torture the fck out of any padeye knight outfit that questioned my abilities as I sat there with my homebuild or heavy mod unit. Wether that be a British club (goan) or a dive school on a distant island with no idea what a CCR is. I learned a long time ago to live with the flaws in the system and have work arounds where needed. Eventually I got tickets because it is less hassle then the work arounds. What you find is that when you are one of the above, your ticket is cheaper because there is less work to do in making sure you have that minimum level of competance.

In order to protect the many, a few will be inconveinienced. Ahh, unlucky.
