I asked about the Handset control as it dawned on me that things can get knocked about underwater, Have there been problems with unintensional taps

And no, not the taps on sinks
no problem, once passed the setup-sequence after the start-up, you can not go into setup/calibration anymore, unless you first switch off the unit, and then switch it on again
this is programmed this way as a security item
under water, the only tap you can give, is to switch on the backlight for 15 seconds (if you want to)
accidentally switching off under water has never happened until now.. as far as I know), and even then, simply switch it on again :-)

Not that it is *anyones* business but myself and Paul, but since I am polite: I was taught by the same guy who taught me to dive the other 20+ types of rebreathers I have dived...

Paul has already answered the question. And who taught Paul to dive it? . Someone needs to be first!

Installing the balance of the harness now. and doing another test "under the pool cover" tonight. Backplate fits *great*, and I've just come to appreciate the fact that the manual add buttons are on the bottom, meaning that they don't get covered by the wings. That was a problem for me on the Mark-15, and this is a better location. Like it more and more.

I'm going to set up a "Rebreather World" invitational "dive and try" day aboard EXPLORER sometime in June. This is just a good excuse for people to meet, eat hot-dogs, and do some shallow "fun" diving aboard the boat. If anyone is interested, let me know. I'll have the rig there for show and tell. Might be a haul from Sweden though....

Fredrik, do you have those nice valves in 3/4 (US) thread or just M25?

Best,

Dave

I would definitely like to take you up on that offer Dave. I plan to be on the east coast the last week in June. PM me if you get serious about doing it.

Please, Please, Please not the last Sunday in June. Thats the 58th Blessing of the Fleet in Provincetown aka The Provincetown Portuguese Festival. I spent it last year at Mass General getting titanium installed in my kids jaw. If Explorer is near Provincetown that weekend look for the raft of fishing boats and if you see a fat guy with a beer in one hand and a spatula in the other stop on by.

Re: My rEVO Arrived!

I'll start a new thread in "trips" when I set up the day(s). Be nice to get a bunch of guys together and I'll set Miss Brazil up at the grill so we have hot chow all day (I'll even have Linguicia on the grill for ya'll from Provincetown - which one of the 500 fat guys with a beer in one hand and a spatula in the other should I look for at the Blessing of the Fleet? ).

Basically, though, we are diving weekly there anyhow starting in about 2 weeks and right thru November, and EXPLORER is always "open-house" to visitors. Plus, we run the "U-Boat Express" non-stop all summer.

Dave

"Coffee-Milk, Bubblers, Cabinets, and Dells. Stuffies and Quohogs. Doughboys and Jonnycake, Linguicia and Chourico, Clear Chowda too!
You'll know when you are in Rhode Island when you don't understand a food-item they mention.... but it's *all* good....."

I'll be the good looking one with the best food of course. I'd give you a boat name but my regular ride sank last winter. I'm sure there was no connection betwean the sinking and the fact that several of our crew that year pulled a "Girls Gone Wild" while the Bishop was flinging holy water at us
Brad

PS. You forgot the Squid Stew. Hmmm.Hmmm.Good!!!!

Re: My rEVO Arrived!

Dave, where is the Explorer berthed, Rhode Island, right? Is it totally CCR or can my OC wife join us? What kind of lodging is there near the boat, it is a long day trip to RI?
