You DO have to show ID to get into DEMA, yes they mail the badge, however you must check in to get your badge holder which identifies you as, Buyer, Owner, Instructor, Store staff, Rep, etc After you have your holder, you place badge in it and then just saunter past the gatekeepers as you pass. They will not let you in with just a badge.
Probably the easiest way to get in would be to go as Press, (if you are not a DM or instr) make up a business card for a scuba related website, www.scubawannabe.com or some such, pay your fee and go baby go.

Depends - did you post that in this thread, or was it a separate thread? If it was a separate thread I didn't know how to find it. If it was this thread, I didn't find it especially clear - no criticism intended.

I'm straining my brain now, but I think they make you show ID to get the badge holder (not the badge), and you put your mailed badge in it. So, if you have a custom badge holder you usually use (which I do; it was a freebie one year from one of the gear companies), you can just walk right in, which I also do. However, I am a DM (whee!) and actually eligible to get in, so I'm there completely legitimately.

Can anyone else verify if my memory is correct above? Thanks much,

I was in Orlando after a Convention mid September and the Hotels were relative empty. The attractions were very good accessible no waiting at the rides.
Just remember the area is large, and all around there are swamps. Orlando is riddled with toll roads. And because of all the tourist attractions (Disney). Over all Orlando is a expensive place to stay. For the Kids it is OK. "We like the beach...." the Kids said after we asked them if they like Disney and wants to visit again..
Last year we stayed at the Raddison Resort in Kissimmee. However this might be off a bit so you need a car to get around.

sadly myself ill not be able to go. for a party if id known and been a member of this forum long enough i might have been able to have provided a 3 bedroom condo, possibly penthouse (no not the magazine,the suite) for a party location. id need a years advance notice to reserve a 3 bedroom condo (penthouse suite or not) in florida though. if finances work out, id love to attend the next one, and if its in an area where i have access to a condo, id be happy to offer it up for a get together.

i dont post much on here.. mainly read, but im happy to help most folks where i can. DEMA is a show id love to attend, and God willing get to meet some of you, if nothing more than to put a face to a handle and shake your hands.

just a poor whiteboy trying to do better for himself and his family, and help out friends,

Hi DEMA goers

if anybody is interested in some expedition diving (European Arctic/Antarctic Peninsula) why don't you check out Oceanwide Expeditions, they should have a booth there again.

Unfortunately, they have not considered any Rebreather or even nitrox but this might change if enough interested customers mention it...

We will have 4-5 trips during the upcoming Antarctic season and probably 1-2 Arctic trips out of Svalbard (Arctic Norway)

Now back to "how do I get in" discussions...
