![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Aggressor Fleet Drops Rebreather Support That's a hell of a lot of brightwork - and in damn good shape - on a boat that runs charters! Having owned a larger boat I know what it takes to keep it looking good, especially with divers on board (lots of salt water dripping EVERYWHERE, and plenty of impact risk.) I can have a good time diving even if I'm on a cruise ship. Its all about calibrating my expectations to where I am. On a cruise ship I expect to have everyone treat me like I've done 5 dives in my life - all in my PADI class - until I hit the water. The last cruise I took I dove in Belize, and brought my plate and single-tank setup - with long hose and can light. That drew stares - right up until I backrolled into the water. From that point on the divemasters left me alone and worried about the 25 "rototillers" that were on board with us. ![]() It wasn't "technical diving" by any means, but I enjoyed it. If I had come expecting to do a 200' hour-runtime deco dive on one of the walls, I would have been upset, and knew that in advance..... so I didn't.

Yeah one of the other operators in Nanaimo runs his charters off a rubber dinghy. He doesn't have to worry about salt water though. ![]()

If I had come expecting to do a 200' hour-runtime deco dive on one of the walls, I would have been upset, and knew that in advance..... so I didn't. You summed it up perfectly. You adjust your expectations to your surroundings. I have to balance a girlfriend that is newly OC certed, and my own diving when I make plans. Sometimes I travel alone (like to truk & palau) and other times I take her and we go find some warm water destination, whether it be by cattle boat, liveaboard, or cruise ship. I dont expect to bring my tec gear on the cruise ship, and she understands shes not going to truk on a 200' deco dive with a single 80. It's common sense really. I dont get some of the previous posts about spending 10k on a trip and then expecting deco dives on a known cattle boat. I dont have to talk to my travel agent to know Im not going to be doing deco dives when I go on a cruise ship.

![]() | Dolphin Charters caters to Rebreather divers Hello my rebreather friends! While the Agressor fleet might not want us on their ships anymore I happy to announce that I just started a dive charter business in Puget Sound and I will be happy to cater to our rebreather community. Dolphin Charters operates out of Mukilteo and Everett and we guarantee that you will NOT see any Dolphins ;-). Since the boat is a 19ft open RIB with sufficient horsepower, you might even enjoy the ride. You can reach Dolphin Charters at 440-840-0445 (cell) or 425-493-2550 (please note that this number is not staffed during business hours but provides you with a way to leave your name, number desired day of diving, dive site and we will get back in touch with you.) If you want to talk to a human being, call the cell number. Best regards Harald H. Fiedler Dolphin Dive Charters
