We accept that there are many many forums out there, all different, with something unique to offer the reader, and it is great to see Stuart ask the community for ideas, and I guess this is no coincidence that it follows a YD revamp of the home page, but by allowing this kind of stupid rivalry, Rebreather World does itself a disservice if it claims to be a 'friendly' board as many people are happy members of a number of boards. It just makes you sound more like South West Mafia. Sadly most of the work required by 'the crew' DivetheWorld, is reading and moderating posts like yours I had to think long and hard before tackling this post on this board. My sincere appologies to the board for this rant and hijack when it was going so well. You could make everyones lives a lot easier, by contributing constructively.Andy Stu and 'the crew' doesnt moderate the same way that YD does, and that is why he is so well respected, by me anyway, by most I expect. It is the way in which common respect is propagated in this community and the examples shown by the moderators to take critisism squarely like men that has given Rebreather World the reputation it deserves. You earn respect here, you dont moderate your way to it. Respectfully, I am asking you to leave that attitude at the door. It doesnt belong here. PM sent to end this and leave it where it belongs. In private. Brent.

But only if the majority had connections which could handle it. How much, what graphical content and the amount of data could be critical. Opinion time? Brent.

| XLVI WC! ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: What shoudl be on the front page? Up to my eyes at work at the moment but 1 request please... ![]() Please could the cycling of the library articles remain on the front page. I think this is the most direct way ni which people link into the library. They see an article that interests them on there and then click through. I think if we lost this on the front page, library visits may drop.. but then I could be wrong ![]() We have now 73 articles on the site and they are steadily building, with on average 2 being added a week. And the feedback threads get a lot of hits and comments on them too and there is often a good debate to be have from them. The cycling of photos seems like a good idea too, we are building a fantastic Rebreather gallery and there are some excellent shots, I think more people would access this part of the site more often in a similar way to the library if we could be this. Also, there was one other thing pointed out to me about the front page but I'll drop that on a PM to you Stuart. Hope this makes some sense Cheers Lou

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: What shoudl be on the front page? I agree the welcome message takes up too much prime space and isn't really needed for members. New members get a welcoming e-mail anyway, and maybe we can tackle that next. I suggest that the Stats, while impressive, could move further down the page, too. I also support the idea of having regular members listed as top posters, not Rebreather World staff. Same with the Random Destination, they're free promo for the operations as much as for our data base. But they could be further down the page but expanded with a Newest Destination. Move the Online Users into the space now occupied with the Stats and the Recent Threads will be right below the User CP and thus visible when the page first loads (unless maybe you're at 640 x 480 resolution ).I still believe the library and gallery are top notch features, especially the former. So moving the Featured Articles up enough to add a gallery selection or newest images and have at least the headline bar visible would be good. Maybe even have a gallery selection with a combo of one random image, the latest one, and the most popular picture. ![]() Anyway, my two cents. ![]()

Library will still be prominent, Will have Gallery selection on main page some where... Stats, currently logged in users will move from the front page into the forum main page. Probably a better blog display... Still undecided about latest posts on front page as everyone I think just uses new posts button? And a few more things no doubt... ![]() Stuart

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | front page items - a suggestion Hi there I am new here, but will give it a shot anyway: why not put up a gallery of icons for all the (currently discussed and used) Rebreather types, which link to the respective threads and categories? Or how about a "switch" for SCR, mCCR, eCCR types? |
