In the US the FBI and other FEDS get involved in these big cases or stolen tech gear as they may be related to terrorism. Hopefully your investigators there will take this very seriously.

Unfortunately not, unless this is terrorist-related, the jurisdiction falls under the local CID.

Very sorry to hear this, I hope it doesn't set you back.

My club had quite a bit of kit nicked from a lorry at Bovi in the 90's, nothing like this much but we were all poor students and it was all new kit. We could give descriptions to the police based on the kit they stole but they weren't interested and had to be practically forced to even come to the site and talk to anyone. "apathetic" just isn't adequate. I hope you get better luck.

I don't think anyone got anything from the insurance either.
