Site Upgrades

Starting today and finishing next weekend I will be upgrading the site software and server.

There have been a few releases of updates software for the forums, gallery and search related functionality.

Plus we have outgrown the current server so I have just sorted out a nice new server which unfortunately means I got to pony up just under $15k to sort us out for the next year, but it does give us a fancy new quad core with a shed load of memory and secure off site backup storage....

So you might well see the site switched off for a few hours today and next Saturday and Sunday when I sort everything out....

ok so Phase one of the upgrade *hopefully* is done and we now have a server with a lot more oompth and I quadrupled the bandwidth - I know there are a couple of teething issues, feel free to point them out in thie thread if I miss them....

The other upgrades will be done next weekened *sighs*

a day without Rebreather World !!!!! i'm so glad there is alchol in the world, not sure what i am going to do next weekend, hmm maybe i'll go diving (well if my shearwater and hud turn up in time. )

you'll all forgive me for ducking out of any errors today I hope - 9 hours of one of my weekends of fighting the damn software to get the upgrade done is enough for me!

Sorry some of the tables from the DB got corrupted I think, I just did a comparison between the backup and new one and I think I fixed it but - think I lost some posts since I turned it back on.

grrrrrr I think I fixed it but tables for posts, threads, users and pms from last hour or so might have been affected - I am sorry but if they have been it will be easier to redo your messages or posts or rejoin the site than me trying to reverse engineeer any errors - I am sorry about this.
