| Going Down? ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Rouse Memorial Plaque Missing hey guys, Best idea that I have heard in a long time. Have some green and my backing also.i am very far from where you guys are, and i am really gutted from what i read here. though i do agree with the guys who really went mad and expressed a few words ( i am along those lines as well), i do understand how important it is to get the plate back. i dont know if it can be found, as the people who do such things, are the guys who find a scuba tank underwater with tied in a rope or inside a cave or wreck with a big sign " please dont move - Divers rely on this air" and without hesitation grab the tank and run away feeling lucky they found a free tank with a regulator on. what i want to get at is that these guys are so filthy, that they wouldn't give a damn about what this plague meant to some people... Therefore, i suggest, make a bank account, give the details openly and lets all contribute the slightest amount. i dont know how much the plague costs, but i guess this would make stronger the feeling that "we care and look out for each other". i guess the family would feel proud that the community stood by them. i think that even the souls of the people missing would prefer this if they had a choice. (this is getting deep here, but i hope you get my point.) so, Joel, you have my backing. just let me know and i will put some money in a bank account. i think if we all, or most of us contribute, then we can get a nice plague back to restore the situation. hope i don't get missundestood here. Thanks Spyros

Steady on there david you'll get me a reputationThen kneecap the bastards. hey guys, Spyros, this a great idea, and if every one thinks they would like to help i would be very happy to put a donating button on my website that people can use then i can collect the money in one place before passing it over to evie or i could get a new plate made up for her.i am very far from where you guys are, and i am really gutted from what i read here. though i do agree with the guys who really went mad and expressed a few words ( i am along those lines as well), i do understand how important it is to get the plate back. i dont know if it can be found, as the people who do such things, are the guys who find a scuba tank underwater with tied in a rope or inside a cave or wreck with a big sign " please dont move - Divers rely on this air" and without hesitation grab the tank and run away feeling lucky they found a free tank with a regulator on. what i want to get at is that these guys are so filthy, that they wouldn't give a damn about what this plague meant to some people... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Rouse Memorial Plaque Missing Guys, thanks for agreeing with me on this. i was a bit reluctant to say such a proposal, but i guess it will make the community even stronger. i am glad we share the same values on such important issues. i think one of you guys should arrange the bank/ payment/donation procedures as you guys are more experienced on the matter. Just give out a note once everything is set. i am pretty sure that Evie and rest of family and friends will be very proud that their loved ones once belonged in a community called "divers".... Cheers. Spyros

![]() | Re: Rouse Memorial Plaque Missing Not as noteworthy, but I noticed that the plaque in the Firetruck at Dutch Springs that was placed in memory of a NYC officer who died at 9-11 (and a Divemaster) was taken as well. Its so sad that our own would do such a thing. Did they knock over grave markers when they were kids? |

Thanks Spyros Spyros, thanks for the good idea. i will check with Evie and see if we need to do this. Making a plaque is not that expensive and we can probably absorb it. If we need to set this up we will. Your sentiments are greatly appreciated. Cheers JDS

This sort of thing is quite a common occurance. Last time I went to Dorothea, I noticed that two of the plaques that were put there had been torn away from their pedistals. These had been well and truely fastened into the slate ground. I dont believe it is divers though since the local juvenile bas#ards, sorry children have been known to raid your vehicle as soon as you enter the water. Its so sad that our own would do such a thing. Did they knock over grave markers when they were kids? ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Rouse Memorial Plaque Missing Guys, please don't thank me. i just feel so sad for Evie, Sue and the rest of the families who experienced something similar. this is a very bad phenomenon. i think we must find ways to socially educate people... my heart goes out to those affected. i am sure there are lots of people who share the same thoughts. i really dont know what else to say. just keep the publicity going guys. i think this is the only "weapon" there might be to keep such phenomena.. Thanks to all. Spyros
