![]() | Re: Beyond The Blue - Important Announcement Ermmm, did this actually happen? Not sure I follow you.If you're asking 'did I lose most of a 12 month subscription when 9-90 folded', then the answer is emphatically 'yes'. In the end it hardly broke the bank, but I never saw a penny in recompense, free back issues etc, etc (as was talked about after the event) and the owner / editor is happily launching new titles, which does vex me ever so slightly.... The same happened to me, and others have explained why. However, Ron made up (to me) with back-issues of Beyond The Blue as replacement. And when I had a contact issue after subscribed to BTB afterward, he did the same once I have made a successful contact to Ron. In my case, he always came thru with what was due to me. Some hick-ups along the way but I always got what I paid for. So just be persistent and try to contact Ron, he will make it right...

Ron can get a bit testy sometimes but if you treat him as you want him to treat you he will usually respond well.So just be persistent and try to contact Ron, he will make it right... To be honest, for me it's more to do with the principle than being out of pocket. When 9-90 folded I just thought 'ah well, sh*t happens' and felt sorry for the people who'd probably lost their jobs as a result. However, when 'Beyond The Blue' subsequently launched I must admit that I felt a bit miffed and vowed that I'd never spend my money on another publication edited / owned by Ron Mahoney. If the new incarnation of the magazine is free, then I will of course read it (although it'll be the pdf's as I find the 'super duper page turning .exe file' to be gimmicky and irritating - content sells magazines, not daft presentation formats).Regards Midnight I also wish Ron well in his new venture - as I said earlier, at least readers wont lose money if it goes belly-up. It remains to be seen how it'll turn out - a 100% advertising funded magazine must be a tricky proposition to make work. I hope it doesn't turn into a series of insipid, gushing 'product reviews', forever fearful of criticising a current / potential advertisers products and hence losing revenue - time will tell. cheers Matt Last edited by MattW : 12th April 2007 at 08:51. |
