![]() | Buy a Russian REbreather off ebay? Has anyone compeleted the purchase of a russian rebreather listed on ebay from any of the 'stans countries. Feels like a leap of faith to wire transfer money to russia. The two main guys have good feedback but you can't tell from the feedback what they sold or where the buyer was. NNNN |

NNNN I've purchased from dshop2005no problems once the transfer info got straightened out. PITA picking up thru customs, but doable.

No major issues, problems was they didn't have a listing for what I bought (Protei 5). Wound up in my favor tho..........only had to pay processing fee.....around $20 USD IIRC. The other "fees" were waved because they didn't know what to look it up under. Just took about 1-1.5 hrs of wasted time trying to find it, and calling over just about every customs person to try and find it. All in all I wouldn't have a problem doing it again (in fact plan on it soon)

Three years ago I bought a IDA-59 from a guy "bunya" on ebay out of Russia and everything went smooth and very fast. I wired the money and he sent the rig out on arrival of the money. A couple weeks later I received a nice, cloth wraped box with the Rebreather inside, nicley padded. All went well.

![]() ![]() | My IDA-76 just arrived from Dshop. Took 7 days to receive from date he picked up the money. Smaller unit that went airmail and there was no customs clearing at my end, just pick-up at the local PO. The communication issue hit me as well. I got error messages that one of the isp's was a source of spam so it was flagged. Not sure if it was mine or his but everything through Ebay went through okay. Sergey is a good guy! On a side note Western Union does not allow you to pay online for goods and services in Latvia. You can only send money easily through a physical location and naturally they make you 1) Register 2) Fill out all the forms and CC info 3) Call to confirm 4) Tell you it can't happen-"go to the grocery store sir!" 5) Keep a hold for the amount of the transaction for 5 days( yes I know it's the bank but WU knew they wouldn't be doing the trans so why authorize the bank???) 6) Take the time to tell you that they DON'T DO TELEGRAMS! And Moneybookers does not like people with an initial for a first name so J P Morgan, E F Hutton and Yours Truly H B Rose are SOL there too,,, Now if I can find some oxygen and a fill adapter and convince the high school kid at the Middle School pool that the IDA is a fancy set of water wings to float the fat old guy,,, ![]() |
