How could anyone compare the 2 as they are completely in different catgories/families/whatever ?Personally, for what I use the Rebreather for, I wouldn't dive the RB-80 if it was given for free. Dived the PVR-BASC plenty and even as nice as the EDO in CC mode (i.e. XCR), I have no desire...

| Re: RB80 for sale How could anyone compare the 2 as they are completely in different catgories/families/whatever ? One assumes he is going to do the dives on the RB80 that he used to do on the Borris?? so that gives a basis for comparison. Gas logistics, ease of use, buoyancy issues, streamlining, wob, decompression obligations, bailout considerations. How will they compare between using a SCR against a CCR for the same dive.Personally, for what I use the Rebreather for, I wouldn't dive the RB-80 if it was given for free. Dived the PVR-BASC plenty and even as nice as the EDO in CC mode (i.e. XCR), I have no desire... Once upon a time, i considered using an RB80 because i liked its safety features. I was hoping to be able to do three to five days diving to 60 -70m using two 12s and two 10s of deco mix. It then occurred to me that by about the third dive i would have no bailout gas on either back gas or deco. So i canned that idea and went to look at CCR. I was also very disappointed because i sent a list of questions to JJ concerning the RB80 and got no reply what so ever. ATB Mark Chase
