| Who loves ya, baby ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Time to step on brakes here. ![]() Teufel-Hundin, if you had introduced yourself briefly as most new members do the controversy may well have been avoided. Most certainly that would have been the case if you had offered the for inspection or local pick up in your initial post. I'm sorry you feel so offended by responses to your sales listing, but when it comes to e-bay and rebreathers caution is a must. It's an anonymous place to sell and buy and is being misused continuosly by scammers. Search through any Rebreather forum and you'll find plenty of cases where people have been ripped off, legit e-bay ads have been ripped off etc. That has nothing to do with you and everything with the nature of e-bay and some of the people using it. It is the buyer that needs to beware. That being said, the setup you're selling is just about the most complete offer I've seen. The Dräger technicians kit is quite rare. The Uwatecs in the picture look like Aladin XO2 rather than current ZO2 you listed. Those things can raise questions, as will mails from scammers trying to hi-jack your potential buyers. Rather than being offended, be patient and answer questions as they arise. To everyone, try to keep the tone civil. Felixsimba, thanks for doing just that. Plenty of Rebreather gear has sold among members. Good luck with sale/purchase.

| Administrator ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: !!PRICE REDUCED!! Complete Rebreather Setup Yup, I'm with Stefan, everyone chill out a bit... DivnSnapper, PLEASE, don't take this as offensive, BUT, you said yourself, your new at this ebay stuff... It's a VERY common scam (i'm sure most regular ebayers will back me up on this one) for a high priced auction, the higher unsuccesfull bidders will often get emails from scammers, appearing to be the original seller, stating that "original buyer didn't come through, give me the money, and the goods are yours"...... or something along those lines... They're bloody good at it, the emails look genuine, but in most cases, aren't... hence you getting half a dozen emails from different adresses for the same thing... Teufel-Hundin... I hope you can understand the members "hesitance", when your first post on the forums is a for-sale ad? The forums here (and anywhere else) are kinda like ebay (but here, they're much much more betterer!!!)... you have to gain some reputation before people start trusting you... If it had been someone with 1000 posts, huge feedback rating etc, it prolly woulda been looked on a LOT more positively...Let us all know who you are, a bit about yourself, etc etc etc... At the end of the day, its all good, someone with no history on RBW posted a "for sale", someone with no experience on ebay was subjected to (yet another) a scam attempt (or 5 in this case)... both put 2 and 2 together, and came up with 2,146,316 Hopefully lotsa people can learn from the experiences of the ppl involved, and we'll all go back to living happily ever after!!! ![]() Cheers, CD (after 2 Coopers Sparklings, and 3 glasses of red, I'm just crossing everything hoping this makes sense!!!!!) ]\/edit: and again, backing up Stefan... its always the scammers that get the "little details that we technophiles pick up" wrong... From the photo, they are the older "Air X" computers, not the Air Z's that you state in the text... Clarifications would put a lot of people's mind at ease... ![]()

| Re: !!PRICE REDUCED!! Complete Rebreather Setup I will apologize again for getting heated I just place a very high value on integrity and I am already upset to have to be selling this setup at all. | Re: !!PRICE REDUCED!! Complete Rebreather Setup Getting "Second Chance" offers after you miss out on a big ticket item is incredibly common. You will likely notice none of them came through the eBay system (the first red flag). Other things to watch out for are that they do NOT come from email addresses or names in any way associated with the one on eBay for the original seller, they can't give you more information or photos about the item, and they are usually looking to close a quick sale without PayPal as a payment option. Yes, crooks are watching eBay like hawks. |

| Re: !!PRICE REDUCED!! Complete Rebreather Setup DivnSnapper, the private e-mails you got on E-bay were not from the real seller, they were from Third World mutant scammers that live under rocks in Europe where they too have a toally failed immigration policy. These scams are quite common on E-bay, and the scam usually works by them giving you an even better deal and rquesting you pay with Western Union, a dead scammer giveaway, but works for the scammers all the time as stupid people fall for it. On one hand I can see how the Dolphin seller would be QUITE pissed at you here from his standpoint at least, but since you apparently are a total newbie to E-bay, I am sure you are not up to speed on the rampant fraud methods E-bay doesn't care enough about.... I think it is better to be overly vigilant then under-vigilant, so I see both sides here. E-mail addresses with rr in them have always been related roadrunner cable/dsl systems. As to the seller, if that wasn't the best example possible of proving up legitimacy, I don't know what is! |

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Thanks everyone for educating me on this. I backed out of further bidding on this package based on all the strange emails I got. IMO I think eBay is NOT the way to go for purchasing big tickets items if this is so common. Glad it all worked out... lesson learned for me! ![]() |

| Re: !!PRICE REDUCED!! Complete Rebreather Setup Isn't it a pity that a potentially so fantastic medium is rendered almost useless? I was offered a brand new Dolphin for only $1200... Although this one was all to obvious some scams are hard to uncover though. I can only concur that e-bay is not the place to buy a Rebreather unless you can pick it up in person.... With respect to smaller purchases I've never had any problems. Stuff wheter from th USA or China always arrived without a problem.
