Trade for a KISS?

OK, just tryign to get an idea of what's out there, but I'm thinking about trading my KISS for another rebreather.

What options are there? As far as I can see it's going to be an Inspo, which I'm not so keen on, but it does have a lot of advantages. Are there other units worth thinking about?

So far the Meg is too expensive, same with the Boris. The inspo is available and I'm not interested in the vision after all the problems, so no problem there. But is there a better option?

Maybe I've just got, same as every Rebreather owner, that feeling that the grass is greener. I'm sure it's the same for everyone.

If anyone does have a unit they want to trade, I'm more than happy to discuss and see if we can do a deal. PM me.

How deep are you planning of diving? I dont view changing to another unit if your not planning of diving deeper than the Kiss will go. So if it were me, and I did just move to the Meg, deeper diving is the only reason I could justify to move. The Kiss is a great user friendly unit that offers many diving options, and ease of use. Why change if you only plan on diving shallower than 300'.

I'd be interested to know why you're dissatisfied with the Kiss, what's missing, do you want electronic control, deeper depth, etc?

Now I'm not talking about another home build. You say that your not keen on an Inspo, but it has its advantages. Take the bits you want, change the bits you dont.
For people like you and me, there is no set rules.
Apart from the scrubber outer can, there is not a part left untouched on mine. It's nearly exactly how I want it now.
I'm not sure, but I think your the kind of guy who likes the MKxx.x type and put up with all the crap with owning one.

I suppose it depends on what he doesnt like about the Inspo.
The lungs might not be the only issue, it was more than that for me.
I'm starting to like mine now i've got it fettled. It still has a few 'issues' but so do they all. Will have the last ones ironed out in the next couple of months though.
I can see this discussion going all over the place!
Problems/solutions I've come accross.

• OTS lungs cause a lot of clutter,
  • No real answer to that one. I use a DPV a lot so OTS is the only type of lung which gives minimal WOB over long runs with the scooter and in most swimming positions (subjectively speaking of course).
• Size,
  • Simple, Phi’s travel frame.
• Ox tox/CO2 bail,
  • Bob Howell BOV
• Cleaning of lungs,
  • Detachable lungs.
• Setpoint control,
  • KISS addition system with second gas connector on manual add.
• Bail options- access to gas,
  • Gas switching block for Dil and O2 to bail reg and GCS system to connect to sidemounts when required.
• Shite harness,
  • Custom Divers Sport harness
• Scrims,
  • Replacement stainless mesh bonded to canister. Scrims now optional, packing easier and more stable. No noticeable WOB changes.
• Suicide ‘O’ ring,
  • We’re working on it!!!!
• Inadequate lift for rough seas from wing.
  • CD VBS wing.

There's a few other bits and bobs but these are the major changes. In all honesty, the classic is a good base to start from.

Know your PPO2, Pre-breath, Use checklists, Validate cells at 6mtrs, Use pure O2 at or near surface, Use a BOV, Don't dive Solo, Change Slime and Cells as recommended by Manufacturer and RTFM!
