| Re: Inspo Scammed I appreciate all the tips guy's, bottom line is I was stupid, the alarm bells were ringing but I was too exited at the prospect of getting my very own yelow box. After going through the eBay dispute process I reported it to the local police with a copy of all correspondense. Based on the evidence I supplied they said it looked like a straight forward deception, checked the address which came up the a Miz of that name. They felt certain that when they go to knock on the door it would be an ex, who would hopefully point them in the right direction. There would also be CCTV from the Western Union office which would be enough to obtain a conviction. They think he is not to smart and there are several trails which can be investigated. Will post if they actually nick the bastard. Have now got an Inspo & course sorted from Rob Sharet of Lizard divers, hope to get downthere in the next couple of weeks. Ebay is another matter, hard to guess how many transactions are completed every day. They do themselves no favours by just quoting policy at you regardless of what your trying to report. Yes you can check the seller's feedback, etc, the bottom line is how much money are you prepared to send a stranger, for items you haven't seen, if you can't afford to lose the money don't do it. Ah, the wisdom of expirence. ! |
