| Re: Another Ebay Scam Phil 17 is the e-bay message where the id of the sender is held back by the sender. I sent those e-mails to the people who put those bids on the auction before i saw this thread. My actual e-bay handle is *phil** and 17 is my positive feedback since Sept/03. I sent those e-mails because when e-bay ends a auction scam they just withdraw the listing. Anyone who has ever been defrauded by the e-bay scammer is entitled to put in a claim with either e-bay or pay-pal. To recieve compensation. Of course e-bay has never notified prior auction "winners" that they have been scammed and e-bay has now become aware of such facts. e-bay just tries to cover it up.They withdraw the auction, cancel the sellers i.d. and no communication to others who have been scammed can be found from previous feedback. Several times in fact i have notified past auction winners of thier rights to file claims with e-bay for compensation but e-bay typically removes the scammers id. so no such notification is usually possible. | Re: Another Ebay Scam Sorry to dissapoint you Sadave. E-bay covers all it's bases to protect it's profits. With a $25 deductable and a $200 maximum claim, you'd need a accomplice ready to do time for $175 net. E-bay has free listing days for only .99 cents. What a great concept, run a scam for only .99 cents. I understand what the members of this forum were trying to do by bidding on this criminals auction. But i think it just served to give him a lesson. Next time he'll be less obvious. If a person discovers a scam, you should try to ascertain if it's in fact legit, or a scam. Find out where the scammer is located and then CONTACT THE LOCAL POLICE. Next time this scammer will be a little less obvious.Although this guy was really dumb. Most criminals are, they can't find a real job. On another aviation form, a member was defrauded out of almost $100,000 in a aircraft scam. Now we are talking real money. A year later he is still out the money and the criminal is still free. The scammer never owned the aircraft in question. Anyone buying anything, should conduct due dilligence as to what they are in fact buying and who they are dealing with. Talk to the seller on their home phone, get their business phone number. Do a internet search, does the mailing address match the sellers? Once the money is sent, it's difficult or impossible to get it back. If it sounds too good to be true you have to be extra careful. Step back and think about it, especally if the seller at some point has the item for sale AND YOUR MONEY. Phil Canada |

So that is a good thing And his mobile number is on there. I know its not much, but at least you could phone him and ask the serial number etc. This can be checked up with AP. Ask him if you can go and look at it, tell him you have a family member that lives nearby. If its a scam, he will soon make his excuses. I personally think this could be a genuine auction./Jonny
