Playa del Carmen is where most cave divers are heading and this is were Protec Mexico is located. Check with Protec Mexico, here on the board we have Matt from that outfit. He will take care of you. Web http://www.protecdiving.com/ Please read up on the Rebreather-friendly destination here on rebreatherworld. http://www.rebreatherworld.com/destinations/53.html Protec Diving has- rebreathers on site, Sorb, O2, Trimix, and Silent Submersion scooters. Plus, the usual cave diving goodies. Not to be critical but Dos Ojos is really an entire system not a single cenote. Look under the cave diving section there are specific maps, pictures of the system. All this depends on your training and what you feel comfortable with. Most caves in this region are pretty shallow (20 to 60ft deep) with a few exceptions. There are a few other outfitters in the region but I would start here most of the others do not carry sorb or the other things you would need. Protec directly supports Meg’s so you should be in good shape. Regards, Andrew

| Re: Kiss #177 For Sale Thanks for the imput. I am not cave cert, but would like to try it and see if I like it. Then I can go nuts like every other aspect of diving. So this guided cenote dive sounds cool. Hello Tim, maybe well see each other this year. Are you diving Isle royal? |

Ron's extended an invitiation to go up to Isle Royale (which I've accepted!), but I don't have any dates confirmed. His and my schedules seem to be at odds with each-other (although we were in FLA doing some cave stuff at the same time). We've traded a bunch of notes to get things together.Hello Tim, maybe well see each other this year. Are you diving Isle royal? Speaking of caves, I highly recommend it. I've been a wreck diver since the late 70's and thought the only thing I'd get out of a cave class was better technique. Boy was I wrong. |
