The auction for that unit ended yesterday. The seller has relisted and dropped the price by 100stg.

He said something similar in the last sale listing, but someone sent mail to confirm and the reply was he needed payment first.......

Q:1. what is the reason for not allowing viewing before sale or not wanting cash on collection?000(£2,600+ is a lot of money-if we can check beforehand we would prefer to) 2. Can the instructor?shop you bought from vouch for it? Chris06-Feb-06

This item is in extremely good condition and well worth over the reserve price stated. Do people usually give others as guarantore when they sell their products on an auction sight?

A:Could only find serial no,for the rebreather unit, WR22TO 2 0 2256 07 BTW - the Head is fitted with a 4th Oxygen Cell which can be connected to VR3

A:Hi divingdog5, Brought from another diver via ccr trainer but never did course owing to busy job and no time. it's 3 and half year old, large harness and lung capacity, trimix compatible and adv option, last serviced 15months ago.

Think he missed the point - The guarantors (or at least references) are the trade history and feedback HIS IS ZERO

He may be new to ebay (accepting paypal payment will cost him about £90 in fees on top of his auction costs!) or just smarter than the average scammer

My question is: what is with the the fourth cell being jammed in the housing. Is this standard practice? Seems like a rather odd storage compartment.

What the hell kind of scrubber head photo is that?! The 4th cell's face is not even attached to and into the dynamic portion of the gas loop!

Fellow diver's...I've been in law enforcement for 19 years...this deal smells bad. A zero rating? Come on...use your common sence! Although the seller might be legit I seriously doubt it. For pick-up only? Chances are the seller will want to meet you in a private place...off a main highway or so. Need I have to explain further? Maybe I'm tainted from the job...to many incidents have been investigated by my friends all over the state. They were all the same. Made a deal over the internet, seller was real nice, suggested a meet just off the turnpike, a half-way point, bring cash. Before you know it you are in trouble. WOW! It happens.

Please be careful!

I can see where this fellow is coming from to a degree.

If I sell on Ebay and the buyer wants to come and pick the goods up I always insist on them paying me before pickup, not at the time. I had one experience early on where the buyer wanted to haggle on my doorstep after the event; he got shirty when I pointed out that we had already agreed the price, and it was not pleasant.

I also do not offer people the chance to pop over and view the item on the off chance they might want to bid on it; I don't think I have anything to gain from this and they might come back and steal it.

On the 2 occasions where a buyer has been unhappy with an item from me I have just given them their money back and sold it to someone else.

Perhaps just a spare cell? ALthough they'll all be dead as dodos if they've been sitting there for 3 1/2 years!
