I'd be REAL CAREFUL about the meg that has "popped up" in the states. I just saw it on e-bay listing in Austin, TX. There has been a bad boy there involved in a lawsuit concerning rightful ownership of some Rebreather's. Insert the word "MAY" liberally.

There is currently no law suit to speak of...just a bunch of hot air, but I can confirm that this Meg is some of that 'questionable' gear. I'm still trying to get closure on that damn VR3 I bought from him...buyer beware. Could end up being a good deal, but who knows how long you'll have to wait for the serial number to become clear if you want to pass it on at a later date...

On another note, I have seen it perform...so it was complete and funtional in July of this year.

Yes indeed. Anyone considering buying this http://cgi.ebay.com/Megalodon-Rebrea...QQcmdZViewItem for eBay item 7195743741 should be aware that it is not the property of the seller. Unfortunately eBay will only suspend an auction if there is an active legal action pending, which in this case there is not - yet. Trans-national legal action, especially with an uncooperative local "banana republic" police force is harder than you think. But it's only a question of time.

I do not have the serial # of the unit even though it was purchased with my money, because my then manager (the person above) knew Leon and conducted the whole transaction himself. Mysteriously, there is no trace in the accounting records here of any original documentation for the machine.

Just want to specify that I am not "the person above" or the "former manager" that Peter is referring to...I just happen to be someone who bought a piece of said questionable gear (a VR3) from Peter's ex-partner Roni and have had the pleasure of having to deal with a serial number that is not in the clear...
