| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Prism Topaz for sale - Mint Condition, Like New After 2 pool days and 2 boat dive days of training, I have only taken this Prism in the water for 3 local boat dives. I think it is the most well-designed rebreather of any ever available because it provides either fully automatic or fully manual diving. In fact, it is the ONLY CC rebreather ever marketed (except the Mk15/15.5/16 that its design descended from) that is COMPLETELY functional after all electronics and batteries fail. If this happens on a Prism, just keep enjoying your dive, because the analog secondary will tell you your PO2, and your oxygen and diluent addition valves are completely manual. Whatever computer you use is separate, and completely your decision. This Prism is less than 2 years old. Robert, who used to be the design and repair tech at Steam Machines, has completely gone through this unit with me (on several occasions), and either adjusted or upgraded every single aspect of this rebreather. For example, the selector on the Secondary was carefully disassembled and machined to improved tolerances, so that it operates smoothly and accurately. The heads-up display has a brass attachment bolt installed, so that it cannot break, as is quite common with the stock plastic bolt, along with an upgraded mounting bracket. The mouthpiece was carefully polished for better-than-new leak-proofing and smooth operation. Many of the O-rings in the system were changed to optimum materials such as Silicone and EP. This is as clean a Prism as you will ever find for sale. It shows no sign of use. Total dive time is under 15 hours for this unit. Total cleaning and adjusting time was far more than this. So, it is ready to dive now, better than new. Even the O2 sensors are new, and sealed spares available. A new can of SodaSorb is available. Custom fabricated transport/storage boxes are available. Vircon disinfectant available. All calibration and adjusting tools are available. Probably a few more extras that I haven't mentioned. High definition pictures can be emailed to anyone who asks. Please send me a private message with any questions. I am asking $6000, and truly believe this rebreather is a bargain for this price, considering its quality and capabilities. I am in the Los Angeles area. Last edited by warjarrett : 7th July 2008 at 05:10. Reason: mention the Mk15/15.5/16 |

| Re: Prism Topaz for sale - Mint Condition, Like New I just want to vouch for this particular Prism. I know Robert, and have seen him work on this unit with Warren. It looks stock and like new. But when you look closely, you can appreciate the improvements made. For anyone looking to buy a Prism Topaz, this is a rare opportunity to find one in this condition.

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Prism Topaz for sale - Mint Condition, Like New Brian sent payment, so the Prism is sold. I am sad to see it go, but next stop is a Sport KISS. It's going to be a lot lighter (particularly the overall weight to achieve neutral buoyancy), easier to beach dive and to travel with. But I bet the KISS doesn't breath as easily.
