Unless your a current owner thinking about selling.John Last edited by jkaterenchuk : 9th April 2008 at 17:54. |

| Born Again Diver! ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Classic KISS for sale £1500 ono While it's generally expected that an item is worth what someone is going to pay for it, realistically, is a second hand rebreather, such as a Kiss really worth the sort of money they are going for second hand nowadays? I guess for a Classic Kiss, you are looking at around, what £2000 plus? Thats a hell of a lot of money, not far off the new price, and really, what for? There's no complicated electronics, now complicated pnuematics to these, a few specially machines parts, and that's about it. Dave (from Yorkshire as you can probably tell)

Plus the fact that there are only a few hundred in service and probably a small proportion of which is in the UK, they don't come up for sale that often.I think £2-2.5k is a reasonable price.

| CK+Shearwater ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Classic KISS for sale £1500 ono £2-2.5K doesn't buy much these days.... a broken Inspiration probably the most common "cheap" route into rebreathers. (Although I found a buddy of mine an "unused", unmolested one for just £2K recently, bargain) The thing with a KISS is that unless you are REALLY unlucky, what you buy will be usable Because it has no fancy electrickery, non-servicable parts or return to manufacturer servicing... you swap and lube the o-rings, replace the cells, check the ADV, fill with slime and you are sorted! If I where looking to buy a CK 2nd hand in the UK I would consider paying almost upto the full new price for newish one as it saves the importing/shipping hassle and the product is- what you see is what you get. If Alex had asked for £2.5K right here he would have still had his arm torn off in the rush... guess it pays to do your research before just coming in blind and posting an item for sale....
