Yup. That was the only one to have ever graced my bench. Chris is a friend and I made an exception. Remember that the 'diluent puffer' was a thing built to try to remediate the 'death for unknown origin' issue that plagued the early YBOD's, and that ruined my taste for them forever. I will make little goodies for them, but no need, as the aftermarket is already filled with the stuff.

Yes, I *know* they are fixed now, but..... not for me. Noway, Nohow.

Dude...all the crap you just got rid of...and the Inspo isn't for you? I think you are being a little harsh. It is only natural that the first popular ECCR is going to have people dying on it. People just didn't have the respect for them back then. I really don't think moisture on the cells had anything to do with the deaths. There are certainly worse units out there.

Nope. And I've never mentioned them, or discussed them on any forum. Just no interest. There is no accounting for taste, is there? So this is my first-ever public comment on them: At any given time they have been the mass-market rig, neither very good nor very bad, so it's just hard for me to get excited one way or the other about them. I don't eat vanilla ice cream either... go figure.

FWIW: See *any* OTS C/L rigs in my inventory? I don't own or dive any of them no matter who makes them. BMCL's are my choice.

In any case, this forum is for advertising rigs for sale, not for putting down what other are selling, or discussing purchase choices. The list above is still available as of today. Might add a few collectables later. I'll have a bunch of Mark-15 spares for sale later, but not sure what until I know if the Colkan Pod Mark-15 or the HH Pod Mark-15 sell, as some parts are specific.

Best,

Dave

Actually...I don't own a YBOD currently. And yes, I love my Mk15.5 (and I like my 15), but I do think that people could do worse than an Inspo. For someone who wants to be able to dive a CCR and get replacement parts, it is not a bad option. As you and I both know, Mk15.x units require a certain type of owner who is prepared to source/make parts, and deal with the possibility of losing/breaking parts that can't be easily replaced. I've had Inspos to 100 meters and have done many long hours of deco on them. With the hundreds of hours that I have spent on Inspos, I've never had a failure that required bailing out. Personally, I'd rate the Inspo above most other commercially available units, especially for deep diving where a MCCR won't be as viable an alternative.

Dave, sorry to hijack your post. If you have any interest in selling your Colkan secondary on its own, please PM me.

Aloha,
Charlie

HH Mark-15 SOLD!

Hate to part with it, but it's going to a good home.

Still have the rest of the list above.

Re: LDSOH Moving... Rigs for Sale (Mark-15, Azimuth, Many Collectables)

Hi Joe, The two that I have are both staying: One is in divable condition, the other, well.... let's just say it was exposed to the elements (underwater) for 50+ years and is little more than a DSV and fabric scraps. They are sophisticated little things, aren't they? Surprisingly nice for what was a last-ditch escape lung. I've always wanted to fill the nice one and dive it.

Still have a few Mark-15's looking for homes.

Dave

Re: LDSOH Moving... Rigs for Sale (Mark-15, Azimuth, Many Collectables)

Hi Dave ,
Thank You for your fast reply !
The type of Tauchretter used in WWII German u-boats actually was developed in 1928 and was so was not really " last ditch " equipment . The WWI u-boats also had a tauchretter called the DM2 , now that is a complicated piece of work ! that came into use in 1914 .
If you ever want to sell the display condition tauchretter let me know as I buy any part , even scraps of fabric !

Best Regards,
Joe
