| APECS Meg for sale Well, after much deliberation, I have decided to part with my beloved Megalodon. I truly enjoy diving this rig, but as I fly it strictly as an mCCR using the electronics as a safety net, I find myself wishing for a constant injection. There is likely a COPIS in my future. - APECS 2.01J software - (2) brand new Lithium batteries - Ballistic Nylon counterlungs - ADV - ADV Isolator valve - Mixed gas bypass valve - Scubapro 1st stages - G-snaps - Narked@90 stand - DiveRite Trek Wing - (2) DiveRite Stainless backplates - (2) 3L Alu. Tanks - Calibration Kit - (3) New, packaged R-22D O2 cells $7800 US plus shipping. The unit has relatively low hours as I've only had the opportunity to get in the water for about 10 dives since my certification. If you talk to anyone who has seen me maintain my gear, they will tell you I'm a bit obsessive about my setup and cleanliness. |

| Re: APECS Meg for sale I know exactly what you mean, I like everything about eCCR's minus the set point controller/solenoid and am headed in the Copis direction. the thing i'd have to ask you is why you would sell the whole thing and turn around and buy a copis. Just sell the Apex II head and buy a copis head, I think you will lose a lot less money, who knows, you may even come out ahead. An extra head is a handy thing to have, I bet it will sell for a premium. Pretty much everything else about the unit is the same. g Well, after much deliberation, I have decided to part with my beloved Megalodon. | Re: APECS Meg for sale I had seriously considered the extra head route, but the surplus funds just aren't there right now. I thought about selling the head and then using that to buy the new one, but I would still need a few pieces here and there and there was another APECS head on here a few days ago anyway, not sure if it's sold. The real bottom line is, my work is taking more time than I would like right now an as we close the base in La Maddalena and the ship leaves here for good, I don't see that letting up any. Diving here has been a challenge for time as is, since I have to keep my gear on the ship, take it all down to the fleet landing to catch a small boat over to the next island so I can take it to the other side of a large marina and get on a dive boat. The luxury of just having my own garage is one of the things I miss the most here. I can't leave anything in my car as it will be gone in less than 2 hours. Our base closure schedule and ship schedule are constantly changing and we have no idea what or when we are coming and going. Unfortunately, that will be my only constant for the foreseeable future. So, having thought it out carefully and sitting on the idea for a month or so, I came to the conclusion that I can use that money somewhere that will appreciate instead of depreciating as I just can't justify it sitting around for two years unsused. I definately haven't given up on CCR, or diving for that matter. Much to my wife's chagrin, I never give up on any of my hobbies. I am keeping my Shearwater and other stuff that I will dive OC if the occasion arises and I'm poking at my EOD buddies for any beyond service MK16 parts No worries, you guys aren't getting rid of me that easy... ![]() |

| Re: APECS Meg for sale Sorry to those of you who have sent me PMs. We have been out to sea and our satellite internet connectivity was down for quite a while. I think I replied to the PMs that I received, but if I missed anyone, let me know... Jim |

| Re: APECS Meg for sale Well, not to sound like I can't make up my mind, but obviously I can't... A recent change in jobs on the ship here has resulted in a rather large increase in my free time. I don't know how long it will last (hopefully forever!), but I have finally had the opportunity to get my rig in the water and enjoy it a few times in the last week, so I have decided I will be hanging on to it for now. I know a few of you will be relieved and the rest will roll your eyes... ![]() What fun is to pay interest on toys if you aren't able to enjoy them, right? At least for now I can do both. ![]() |
