Inspo. Classic

Hi,

Looks like I am going to sell my classic mainly due to the change in my diving habits. I am just tidying up the loose ends for it's replacement and have been told that I could take delivery in June / July which means that is roughly when I am looking to move it on. It could be sooner because I happen to know a certain friend of mine has accumulated a spare Inspo.

The unit is a Classic.

Medium harness, large lungs
It has a Uri RGB HUD and a fourth cell holder (the really nice one)
4 new cells,
2 x Dil, 2 x O2 tins
A TX50 on the DIL side and a Scubapro Inflator
A rather large pile of spares including the AutoAir and all the other origional bits I replaced with better. I'll bung in half a tub of lime. And it will have a nice new case.

I would really like to sell the unit complete although I could take of the HUD if necessary. I also want to sell my VR3 which has the PO2 monitoring and TRIMIX enabled.

Complete I want £3,500 excluding the VR3. If the HUD is removed, ask as I'll have to have a think.

Andrew

Re: Inspo. Classic

Hi,

I think the unit is about 4 years old, I will get the serial number off the head in daylight and AP will have the information.

No the unit hasn't gone to AP, I tend to look after things myself. Put a new solenoid on it fairly recently, mainly because I felt like it should be changed.

In reality there is not much to actually go wrong, I've been servicing Apeks regs for years and all your left with is some electronics and a solenoid. If there had been any issues then I would have sent it too them. It happens that there have not. Yes the handsets are backlit.

I will suss the photo bit out in a couple of days, I'm busy tomorrow.

Re: Inspo. Classic

just an observation but it might have something to do with the price ?

They tend to go for less than 3k at the moment (2.5 to 2.8k). I know you have the hud etc. and you probably do better taking that off and selling separately on ebay.
Check out the one for sale from yesterday - same age/spec but 4000$ = 2k and shipping worldwide

just a thought

Re: Inspo. Classic

Yep, come to that conclusion myself. Funny, you spend a while getting your unit just right and then think that someone else will feel the same.

My conclusion, if someone wants it as is for £3,100 complete with HUD etc then shout now.

If I have heard nothing then I will start dismantling it, put it back as standard and sell it as bits. Sad really, I would so much rather it went complete, it works really well this way. I was told I was mad to try and I would get more money if I took all the bits off. Not really what I wanted to achieve.

Re: Inspo. Classic

Hi,

Yes, I'll take some over the weekend, it's still in bits in my dining room at the moment (and no, I am not very popular, in fact the threats from SWMBO are becoming quite - forcefull)

Because of the way this has gone, below is the prices for the various bits and the unit put back to origional.

Inspo Classic - as standard £2,650, I will leave the Autoair off and the scubapro inflator and TX50 on. The Autoair comes loose, in a small box.

RGB HUD complete with 4th Cell holder (the one made by Narked @ 90), wireing loomb, and a new cell. £590. I have this set up so I can run one VR3 off the 4th Cell, and one off the HUD. The one from the HUD is off cell 1 on the Inspo. I used the Beanie adapter to avoid drilling a hole in the head.

The HUD gives readout for all three cells in realtime.

I set the Inspo up to go deep, redundancy and all that stuff hence the two VR3's both monitoring PPO2. My preferred option would still be to sell the unit complete.
