| Thousdand Dollars Gone Hello, It looks like I am out a thousand dollars andI am sadly disappointed. Let this be a lesson for others: I sent, via Paypal, about a thousand dollars for the canister and shipping -- but never received anything in return. The packages was reported lost by UPS and the seller informed me he shipped it without full insurance for the value. He said he would forward the UPS refund for the shipping and a hundred dollars or so for the basic UPS package insurance -- far short of the thousand I sent. To date I haven't received anything. The last email response I received was in April indicating he would handle it mid-May when he returned from his current trip. The email I sent last week hasn't been answered yet. I should have known better... but as he appeared well known around RBW I let my guard down. Beware and be careful when doing business over the internet. Always require full value insurance -- it appears not everyone considers insurance of the full value to be important when they ship "your" stuff. Always know your recourse if you don't get anything. Very, very sad and disappointed and out a thousand dollars, Paul Last edited by PaulTG2 : 10th June 2007 at 15:57. |

| Re: Mini Meg can/Canister for sale I'm not sure why this should be your responsibility unless you declined insurance coverage (and its expense.) If the shipper decided on the shipment method (and insurance coverage) then IMHO it is on him. If you decided on it, then it is on you. When I sell something this is how I handle it; if I am instructed how to ship, then the responsibility is on the buyer; if I choose, the responsibility is on me. At least that's how I see it. BTW from long experience, if there IS a claim on insurance the shipper gets the money (and gets the fun of the fight with the shipping company), not you - which further buttresses my point.

| Re: Mini Meg can/Canister for sale Hello, I did find out the UPS will only work with the shipper. As the recipient I had no standing to ask them to even request a trace of the shipment or to submit a claim. The shipper must file everything and receives any settlement. To be fair, the seller did follow-up quickly and diligently with UPS. He submitted the trace request and follow-up claim. He kept me informed during that process and I got several calls from UPS inquiring whether or not I had received the package (one call for the trace and one for the claim). As I haven't heard anything since April, which surprised me considering the fast initial responses, I don't know what the status beyond that -- and I haven't been promised anything except shipping reimbursement and the approx $120 standard UPS insurance. At any rate, lesson learned. Sincerely, Paul |

| Johnny The Hatch Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Mini Meg can/Canister for sale I know Rasmus and i bet that he will come back to you with information on that is going on. I know that Rasmus and Leon had a very busy schedule in norway. Dont know if they are back yet fro mthat trip. That might explain why he has not responded. My advice to anyone dealing with anyone when it comes to the diving industry. Always call. It is worth it in the end. best of luck /Jonny

| Re: Mini Meg can/Canister for sale ye I doubt if Rasmus will want to be thought of as someone who doesn't give their customer something the customer has paid them for. Stuart
