Toy telegraph or what?

Have you ever seen such a tiny telegraph?

Just pulled this off an old cargo ship wreck we found

Maybe not easy to tell from the pic but its real small/short
didnt even need to use a liftbag - the wing was enough really

After acid dip cleaned up nice.

Ivon,

Ha ha ha ha if only you knew about all the other goodies on the boat. - and I think it's 2 acid baths for the big stuff and a small one for the crockery -

Its not a fancy thing mind you - but as Mike can attest it works a treat....

This lot is from ONE dive we made last year- 6 ships windows (one is already in the bin)

Sorry Mike not trying to stealing your thunder

Re: Toy telegraph or what?

Brick acid will do, the stronger the better. Your better off getting it from a builders supplies then say B&Q as it has a higher conc. To do a port hole etc you should clean off what crud you can then dip it for a couple of hours max then inspect it and give it another clean, it may need another soak depending on how bad it was to start with. Don't leave it in too long or you will start to pit the surface and lose details. The acid does weaken over time so keep adding fresh acid. I have a spare dust bin with lines attached to the bin that I can tie items to and drop them in, makes retrieving a piece of cake.

Just watch your skin and eyes, you may not notice burning strait away.

Re: Toy telegraph or what?

Gez... DrCat I am SO sorry for you... I'm so glad I didn't have to live with finding such a small telegraph!! Never found anything worth lifting, well I got a nice WWII hydrophone once but its not much to look at and bagging up toilets just to "amuse" the skipper is wearing abit thin, apparently

What with it being SO tiny perhaps you can find a use for it? (Be embarrasing to exhibit is afterall)
A setpoint controller perhaps, Hmmm- Full Ahead= 1.8, 3/4 Ahead= 1.6, 1/2 Ahead= 1.4 and so on?
