| Re: Side Scan Sonar Wanted Hi Johnny, Well done with the mods, I'm sure yours is quite a capable unit now. Unfortunately, those sort of mods are beyond most users expertise and/or confidence. If the company made those mods from the factory it'd be a great machine. I'm sticking with my clunky Wesmar SHD700 for the time being, it's only drawback being it's a non-PC machine. Cheers, Jason. |

| Re: Side Scan Sonar Wanted What are the dual frequency JW Fishers units like ?? They are about USD 25k + a few add ons This is a big jump in price from the onns people are discussing here is it that much better?? I have also been quoted AUD 70k for a dual frequency marine sonics unit - have'nt rushed out just yet!! but the sales guy said that the difference in quality between the low end stuff ( he seemed to be refering to the fishers unit) and the marine sonics stuff was significant. Both websites seem to have very nice clear pictures but I also notice that most of the pictures on both sites is imaging on the 900khz (short range hi res) - I would be interested to know the difference between the fishers units and the "up to $5000 ish" units Thanks, Steve L |

| Re: Side Scan Sonar Wanted Try this link Burton Electronics Okay, admittedly I'm late to the party on the SSS discussion... Does anyone have any additional information about the unit from Burton. At only $2999, it seems too good to be true. Brian
