Hey Mario and Pim

Congrats again guys I'm so pleased all went well and that you tested Boris so deep for me

In the habitat at -21 we had switch on Tx 50/20 on open circuit untill 12mt
...vSandro actually stay better and his vestyboular DCI is going away using aggressive recompression protocol!
you had 6+80=14% nitrogen and you moved OC to 50+20=30% nitrogen
could that be the cause of the vestibular DCI ?
like Nuno Gomez, Don Shirley, Sylvain Redoutey ?

Food for thought

PS can I borrow the -21m deco-bell-habitat in caves

Re: Record Dive during Dynamic Dive Exhibition Lago Maggiore

Ciao,

the habitat was for 4 divers with comunications and video system inside,
there was a ponton with a system to move the habitat from -21mt to -4mt and it was possible to move it with 3cm steps!

For Jerome, about the gas:
next time I'll add 10% of nitrogen in fact I haved a mild HPNS beetween -200 and -235mt.
Alessandro haved vestiboular problems at around 55mt, so before to switch to 50/20!

Have a nice day...and deep dives!

Hummmm interesting and annoying because it doesn't make full sense, diving a CCR at constant and elevated ppo2 should had help to avoid that

Is Simon Mitchel reading that thread ???? any help on that vestibular subject ?

Keep on the good work Mario but don't put too much nitrogen

Take care

Jerome

2 minutes bottom time is not a wreck dive.
have they filmed the wreck?
I'd like see their film

Yes and you are not a real diver because you were never below 200m. If you are the expert then please enlighten the entire community what a wreck dive is. At least 30 minutes? At least an hour? We're speaking sub 200m get a grip.

Re: Record Dive during Dynamic Dive Exhibition Lago Maggiore

hi Guys
I am the Dive Marshall for this dive and I wish to thank everybody on this forum for your compliments which are deeply appreciated
soon I will put on the web the full version of our Standard Operating procedures for those who might be interested

answering to Jerome :
Alessandro started to feel some bad sensations around 50mtrs or so and at 40 mtrs experienced a strong vertigo. Thinking about having some problems that might have occurred in his boris quickly went OC on of the Tx35/30 bailout bottles staged on the decompression station. The picture above is taken exactly at the time of bailout..

This action might have triggered an isobaric counterdiffusion in his inner ear or might have worsened his bad feeling...

I must say that even if we (probably) broken some "record" it is incidental since we went there to "explore" the wreck with "humans" and to film it.
The outcome is an extreme dive for divers and supporters which might increase knowledge and experience in this kind of operations.

I wish to thank also each Team member and all supporters, first of all the 3 deep divers who trusted all this people who where there to help those brave divers to come back

feel free to comment, feedback and ask eveything you want

Ciao
Fabio Manganelli

Hi guys,
I'm here just to give you some dive dettails, soory for my bad english!!!!
The plan was generated with VPM B/E +4, descent rate 23mt/min, ascent 20mt min from bottom to 150mt and 8mt min from 150 to the habitat at -21mt.
We have used trimix 6/80, setpoint 1,4 on bottom and 1,5 from 150mt.
In the habitat at -21 we had switch on Tx 50/20 on open circuit untill 12mt and at 12mt switching again to 100% O2.
My bottom time was 4 minutes and all the 3 Boris was perfect with wery high performance.

Very impressive Mario congratulations and thanks for the details.

I know Jerome likes high setpoints too on deep dives, can you/Jerome share with me the reasons for that? any advantage in not keeping setpoint lower and switching up during ascent?

Any issues with feeling of narcosis/co2 from 23mt/min descent speed all way down? Did you descend head up/horizontally/head down position?

Did you use small softnolime or large size?

4 mins at 233m - yikes!

PS Can I borrow that bell after Jerome?
