Help Maltese wreck divers

Hello,

Here in Malta we are trying to do something like UK, with the wreck amnesty and so started a petition and which if you participate can help us. Here is the link http://www.petitiononline.com/malta/petition.html . Also would be helpful from Uk divers and explaine me how it all worked in UK!

Be careful, the UK wreck amensty was okay but it was followed shortly afterwards by knee-jerk public reaction led by the Newspapers. The net result was getting banned from diving 16 famous wrecks because they had high loss of life... some where too deep for SCUBA but a couple where real classic dives and are now sadly out of our reach due to the stupidity of a few idiotic journolists and some ill-informed members of the public.

i read the petition for the amnesty and it sounds like a good plan. we are starting a similar program here in cyprus where much looting and destruction is going on.

the malta wreck amnesty could be an example for cyprus. the initiation for the protection of underwater cultural heritage is the green bay wreck project (at: www.aquatec-innerspace.com). (http://www.rebreatherworld.com/t1681-.html)
