Sea Diamond Wreck in Greece

Hello guys,

did you hear about the new wreck of the Greek Ship "Sea Diamond" which went down just on the coast of the island of Santorini in Greece?
Unfortunately news say that two people are still missing, a French father and his daughter....

I don't know if the company who owns this may try to salvage or lift it up, but from what the TV has shown, if they do not, then it woudl be an amazing wreck to dive there. What do you think? what do international news agencies say about it?

Cheers

Spyros.

Well, the captain was trying to get the passengers off the ship, so he took the ship straight on the rocks, and kept it there untill all the of the passengers got off, which by that time the ship was leaning towards its right side, and finanlly going down. i think it must be upside down from the images i've seen.

it was a very hi tech ship, and very big, so i would guess that max bottom depth must not be more than 50m bearing in mind of how far is from the shore. can't be sure really. its really next to the shoreline.

yes, it did. it suprised me as well, of how deep it must of been for the speed if was going down. news have said that it was a sandy bottom, and it was the weight of the ship which forced its way into the bottom....didn't sound to make much sense in that.

hi,

how did you hear about that? i thought it would be deep for it to slide the way it did, but i was hoping that there could be a new super wreck.

Do you have a source for that information?

Thanks.
