| Re: Sea Diamond Wreck in Greece Sad news for the family. What about the ethics ? i was having a discussion with my wife about this. One one part we have : it's like robbery... or pillage of the stuff as the people have not yet got anything from insurance... and with the grief and on the other hand we have... that could be a cool dive and there must be buckets of cash in the tills of the ship casino... + the rest in the cabins. what do you guys think ? inany case... here are some deck plans : Sea Diamond Deck Plans |

| Re: Sea Diamond Wreck in Greece Sad news for the family. Milka,What about the ethics ? i was having a discussion with my wife about this. One one part we have : it's like robbery... or pillage of the stuff as the people have not yet got anything from insurance... and with the grief and on the other hand we have... that could be a cool dive and there must be buckets of cash in the tills of the ship casino... + the rest in the cabins. what do you guys think ? inany case... here are some deck plans : Sea Diamond Deck Plans thanks for pointing this out. i do understand your concerns. Just to put it this way, suppose you were onthat ship, and had your precious laptop with more than 5000 pictures and other work stuff, etc. and you lost it. just like that. i mean, at the beggining you just want to get out alive, but after that, you kind of feel that " ok, am alive, but what about my stuff"... The thing with insurance will be more complicated from what i think. off course to get paid, you have to have your stuff insured, cause who was thinking that this supership could go down? then again, the insurance companies will propably find excuses not to pay cause the ship went down so late, which means that the passengers had a plenty of time to pick their valuables at least...and they didn't. Then again, the passengers will be blaming the crew which probably told them to evacuate at once and they caused panic...and finally the company will divert the blame somewhere else... it's a pity, but from my work, i gather that it would be a long circus, which will aim to throw the blame elsewhere, resulting in a settlement, once a long time has gone without pay, and achieving a settlement by consent onthe amount. Now, the company will play a role into that, because is under a lot of fire at the moment. Sorry to hassle you, but like you, i am having chats with my wife about this...i guess most of the people are, cause it could happen to anyone of us. Cheers... PS. if they decide to leave it there, then those maps could come in handy....in the summer...and an excuse to the wife to have a long diving week! take care. Spyros.

| Re: Sea Diamond Wreck in Greece Hey all i was on the sea diamond, and to clarify a few things. I think it would be ethically wrong for you lot to dive on the ship. My opinion. 2nd point is that there was no time to grab any belongings as it tipped so fast it felt like it would continue and roll upisde down. Thirdly there is money on the boat however because the boat used a card payment system..All the money would be at the reception most likely ... so might be hard to get too.... |

| Re: Sea Diamond Wreck in Greece I think people are forgeting something............. The Greeks really don't like people wreck diving. Diving is Strictly controlled. Let alone the ethical reasons, That will be something else the Greeks consider very highly. I would be very very suprised if Diving was allowed.

| Re: Sea Diamond Wreck in Greece Hello, Forget the casino... definately not a cash business on most ships. However... every cruise I've been on has had substantial amounts in the jewelry shops. I wonder if the abandon ship drill includes grabbing all the diamonds and gold. -p |
