I doubt that the wreck lies in 200m, I was just reading that Navy Divers are on the wreck looking for the French Dad and daughter who are missing.

BBC seems to think it does;

BBC NEWS | Europe | Two missing at Greek cruise site

Another reason for that "Expedition Trimix-diver"-cource

i totally agree with you. i have seen the article. it does not verify the source for that information..(200m deep) i hope is not true.

Well, one thing is for sure. if they decide not to raise it, then we should open a technical dive center in Santorini....it would be like a gold mine!!!

Santorini - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The water in the centre of the lagoon is nearly 400 m

so 200m is in the ball park ,

wreck is 145m long , running down a cliff , a good bit of her is in reach of divers, could be .

Re: Sea Diamond Wreck in Greece

Santorini island is basically a volcano with a massive caldera which is now mostly submerged.
Santorini harbour is in this caldera so although from pictures it seems that Sea diamond went down close to shore the depths there are extreme, reaching 400-500m.

hey bro,

i 've seen the news from nova tonight. they had some nice pictures. They said that the wreck starts at 65m, and the deepest part of it is at 145m, which if it does not slide any further, and they somehow don't bring it up, believe me...i am already making plans for this summer's dives!!!
