Re: Rebreather World Store 'Ultimate' Torch Range

A well designed goodmans handle and a long thin battery pac is nice for mounting on the unit. Option of tight signaling beem or wider flood using a variable head would be good.

Switches on the torch head are more convenient than switches on the can if you back mount. If for cost saving it must be on the can make sure the batery pack will tolerate being inverted most of the time. Having the switch at the bottom makes turning it on and off much easier.

You should have a look to the TilyTec MPL system. Created by the same man, that originally invented the Greenforce lights. The new TillyTec MPL System is at least 2 or 3 generations ahead of the "old" Greenforce range, but still 100% compatble. I use a TT35 HID or TRI 500 LED head with a TT3 canister.

It looks like i ve got a howitzer strapped to my back!

I think one of the guy's had his Torch back 4 times for repairs and in fact my own video lights flooded during their first use.

Hmmmmmmmmm!
I think there might be another side of this story as well.

Anyway I donīt think this is a proper or serious way to talk about another manufactors products. (That noone else, except you Barrie, seem to have problem with.)

I use the F2 battery with the HID50 head and it is quite possibly the most compact umbilical system that I have seen the head is definitely small enough sit on the back of my hand very comfortably to the extent I dont even feel it.

And it gives me a 4hr burn time the only thing missing is a focusable beam which has now been addressed and is available to buy.

I would agree though that the HID100 is larger.

The only thing I dont like about my torch is the way its turned on and off, turning the head itself is a bit dodgy if yo get a bit over enthusiastic it is easy to turn it too far and flood the head/cable I would prefer a on/off switch of some sort.
