Upon investigation Analytical Industries determined the cause was a change in their manufacturing process that began in June 2007. do you think there's a big time lag from you getting to know about the bad cell s, June to mid November , seem,s like a long time to me , do we have some info on the number of bad cell sent back / number sold , as 30% don't mean a thing with out some numbers , See first post about cell recall http://www.rebreatherworld.com/rebre...or-recall.html

I think it is far to early to have a handle on all the issues this raises but we are supporting AII and we believe they are acting in an honest manner they have recieved some feedback from certain quarters in recent weeks and they have acted in a very pro-active way to resolve the situation.

Without second guessing the inquiry that is ongoing there is video footage of Michael's dive and that does clearly show that CO2 was the cause of his untimely death and as he was a good friend of mine I did contact Myra, Mick's widow to discuss the AII sensor situation with her before the rumour mill had a chance to get going. Died 03/10/2007 RIP.

I've got a cell that needs replaced but my only spares are AII's from the questionable batch. as far as i heard, AI is producing lots of cells at the moment, but they take care to ship GOOD cells!Cheers, Stuart our tests are nearly final on the first 20 I recieved after 5 dives (did only 12 hour in between dives on the last test) 16 cells PERFECT (< 1% voltage difference between just before and a few minutes after the 5th 2 hour dive, and over the last 4 dives) 3 cells very good (only 2% diff before and after) 1 cell good but high output (3% diff over the dive ) please notice these are pressure pot dives, not real dives, and our test does not test the current limiting behaviour, the test only tries to filter out fast decreasing cells I hope I get a similar batch next week ! paul

Having a dealer issue a recall is good enough reason for me not to use them. Which still leaves me with a dead cell and the probability of having to buy a Teledyne from elsewhere if I'm going to dive this weekend. Hence my original question.Cheers, Stuart

Cheers, Stuart I have just spoken to AII to get an update about Sensor deliveries and they expect to have all stocks back up to spec by the end of next week. I understand your frustration at having two spares that are unusable but given the situation I would recommend you send them back to us asap. We are fully supporting AII's decision to replace sensor stocks and we do appreciate the inconvenience it is causing to divers at the present time but we do believe by working with progressive companies like Analytical Industries Inc we can improve the reliability of our future sensors. So again thank you for your patience and we will get the replacement sensors out just as soon as they arrive.

So please feel free to ask the questions and I will pass them to Analytical Industries Inc after the Thanks Giving holiday for them to clear up any confusion;
